Kathy Hilton is unsure if she will be returning to her role as a ‘friend of’ for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12. Viewers have known about Kathy and her relationship with her sister Kyle Richards since the start of the Bravo series. During the beginning seasons, viewers saw the tumultuous relationship between Kyle and Kathy. It began after Kyle’s husband Mauricio left Kathy’s husband Rick’s real estate firm to start his own company, The Agency.
However, Kathy and Kyle’s feud escalated after the reality star was offered to produce a scripted show loosely based on their mother. They were estranged for years, but the sisters were in a much better place leading up to the new season of RHOBH, and their relationship only got better as the season progressed. As a result of their mending relationship, Kathy was able to open up around Kyle and the group and became a fan favorite from the moment she stepped on-screen.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight over the weekend, Kathy opened up about whether or not she will be returning to RHOBH. The 62-year-old revealed that she still hasn’t decided if she plans to return for next season. “You know, I don’t know what I’m doing tomorrow. I could be skiing off Mount Everest. I don’t right now,” she said to the news outlet’s correspondent, Lauren Zima, who’s engaged to Chris Harrison. Right now, Kathy is focused on her daughter Paris Hilton’s recent wedding to Carter Reum, a venture capitalist. The couple tied the knot on Nov. 11 in a lavish Los Angeles wedding. Paris and Carter threw another two wedding celebrations, with one bash taking place on the Santa Monica Pier.
Now that the wedding is behind them, Kathy is looking forward to their upcoming family vacation with the newly married couple. “Just to clear it up, I am not going on the honeymoon,” she admitted. “We are taking a family trip for a week and then they go off on their honeymoon.” So far, Kathy has missed two major events for RHOBH season 12 that have already been filmed. She wasn’t spotted at Kyle’s opening for her new store in Palm Springs and Sutton Stracke’s ‘Parisian Night in L.A’ party. While Kathy’s future on RHOBH is still unknown, Kathy did admit that filming the show has brought her and Kyle closer together. When Kathy was offered a role on the series, she thought it was a great way for her and Kyle to reconnect and for them “to spend time together.”
While it is still unclear whether or not Kathy will return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, viewers are hoping for the best. Kathy was the break-out star from last season, and fans need to see her back on their screens when the show returns next year.
