The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna has been on a social media tear as of late. While Lisa has always been outspoken since her debut in RHOBH season 5, she has not been afraid to hold back during season 12, and has addressed many of her actions on social media. Many of Lisa’s outbursts this season were criticized by fans, and viewers have accused the housewife of specifically targeting Sutton Stracke. Lisa and Sutton’s feud started before RHOBH season 12 began. Sutton shaded Lisa on Watch What Happens Live by mentioning that she didn’t thank her for inviting her to the Elton John gala. Lisa retaliated by claiming Sutton had canceled their table.
In a RHOBH season 12 episode, Sutton brought receipts to prove that she had paid for a table at the gala. The women went back and forth on the topic, and fans thought the issue was put to bed. However, Lisa Rinna seemed unable to let it go and kept bringing it up. Sutton, seeing how much it upset Lisa, apologized to her RHOBH castmate. On a later day, Lisa got heated at the topic again and yelled at Sutton to leave her house. Sutton was visibly confused, as she thought they had put the matter behind them. The Elton John gala-gate was brought up again at Dorit’s fundraiser dinner. The RHOBH stars looked horrified as Lisa yelled at Sutton across the table. Lisa broke down crying and blamed her outbursts on recently losing her mother, Lois. Sutton told Lisa she understood, and the two housewives finally agreed to let go of their issues.
Although it seemed as if Lisa had finally forgiven Sutton, her recent shade on social media has fans questioning their friendship. Erika Jayne had shared an Instagram post about a media outlet that had claimed her estranged husband, Tom Girardi, gave his mistress $300K and a condo. Lisa responded with, “Oh, Slutton, here’s another LA Times article for you, Henny.” Reddit user u/TJ-the-DJ shared a screenshot of the post and wrote, “Slutton … really, Rinna?” An RHOBH fan responded, “Her mentality is as dated as her hairstyle. Why so angry and nasty and bitter???? It’s insane and infuriating to witness over and over and over ….. Again.”
Many RHOBH fans tried to turn the phrase “Slutton” into something positive. One Reddit user wrote, “It’s already used as a positive on here I’ve been a Slutton for the longest time. Rinna so unoriginal she had to take an already established nickname and try and play with it.” Another Sutton fan replied, “The weirdest thing about that insult is that Sutton isn’t even promiscuous, so it’s a moot point.” Sutton, who had entered RHOBH season 10 as a divorcee, introduced her castmates to her boyfriend, Michael Mahoney. After she revealed their breakup during the season 11 reunion, Sutton remained single until she revealed in season 12 that she was dating. Fans saw her go on a date with her love interest, Sanjit Das, whom she recently became Instagram official with.
Lisa’s behavior has been a point of contention with RHOBH fans, and many are demanding she be fired from the show. She used the loss of Lois as the reason for her acting out, and while many fans sympathized with her, they pointed out that she didn’t give Lisa Vanderpump the same grace when she lost her brother in season 9. There are hints that Lisa will not be returning for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13, and fans think that maybe she needs to be put “on pause” for the time being.
