Denise Richards, a former castmate on the Bravo reality television show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, found herself in hot water yet again, this time over not wearing a face mask. Denise seems to not be able to catch a break after her ex Charlie Sheen decided to withdraw from paying child support, and her exit from the show after rumors came to light that she and Brandi Glanville allegedly had an affair. Despite the fact that she didn’t join RHOBH season 11, her name was still being mentioned on the show, much to Denise’s disliking as she has decided not to return.
Denise is no stranger to controversy. She was married to Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen, and she is known to be more low-key and sexually explicit on reality TV than her castmates, not to mention her love for good tequila. However, Denise has proven to be an actress who is still in demand and who doesn’t need to live an extravagant lifestyle to live a good life. According to Denise, spending quality time with her family was the reason to exit reality TV, but The Bold and the Beautiful alum still finds herself in various news headlines.
According to Page Six, Denise was seen entering a private jet plane without wearing a face mask and following COVID-19 guidelines but instead wearing a huge winter coat, hiding underneath it. A tweet by Queens of Bravo read, “According to Denise Richards, her winter coat is thicker than any mask, which is why she’s not wearing a mask.” The news spread like wildfire, especially after Denise posted on her Instagram Stories, “ON A JET PLANE – Anyone that is upset that I [am] not wearing a mask I’m hiding under a hoody amd [sic] a huge winter coat.” Watching the former housewife talk back without biting her tongue was a recurring appearance in RHOBH season 10, especially between Denise and Lisa Rinna. She added to her Story, “Please. Thicker than any mask!!”
The philanthropist has since realized that posting a maskless selfie on a jet plane would backfire quickly. A source told People that Denise was actually wearing a mask the entire time and only removed it for drinking a beverage. Looking at her other Instagram photos, Denise always shows herself in required COVID-19 attire that includes a mask. She hasn’t openly spoken out against the COVID-19 guidelines, and therefore it’s safe to assume she’s not anti-mask wearing. However, fans of Denise and her husband Aaron Phyper, know that at times she is known to have explosive moments not just with her castmates but also with Aaron. An incident where both lost their temper was when Denise and Aaron left one of Kyle Richards’ parties abruptly because Aaron had a disagreement with more than one of the other housewives.
Despite Denise’s maskless incident on a jet plane, she doesn’t seem to be someone to risk someone else’s safety by not following protocol. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum has shown to be a protective mother of her children and a caring wife to Aaron, even being cordial with her ex Charlie. It looks like some social media followers blew this out of proportion.
