RHOA: Tyrone Gilliams Explains Why He Ghosted Shereé Whitfield

Now that Shereé Whitfield has moved on with Martell Holt, her ex Tyrone Gilliams is explaining why he ghosted her on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Shereé is fresh off the heels of unveiling her rebound romance with Love & Marriage: Huntsville‘s Martell Holt after her embarrassing breakup on RHOA. Fans watched Shereé wait years for Tyrone’s prison release and express her high hopes for the happily ever after she expected them to have together. But cameras captured the moment Tyrone left Shereé waiting for hours in the cold for a coffee date he never showed up to.

Shereé hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to dating. Since season 1, viewers have only seen her short-lived romances end in despair. She kicked off the show battling it out with her ex-husband Bob Whitfield. Over the years, cameras followed her dates with men who turned out to be potential scammers and con artists. While Tyrone was first mentioned on the show as a friend of Shereé during her and NeNe Leakes “I’m very rich bi*ch” moment, he later turned out to be another scammer who was sent to prison on felony fraud charges. Shereé and Tyrone fell in love during his time in jail and he filled her up with high hopes that he would sweep her off her feet once he finished out his 10-year sentence.

Now Tyrone is opening up about his breakup with Shereé and explaining why he left her waiting out in the cold. With Tyrone being on probation, he has strict rules to abide by and his coffee date with Shereé wasn’t an approved activity. “Because one, I’m on home confinement. And I wasn’t allowed,” Tyrone explained to The Jasmine Brand. “It was not an approved activity,” Tyrone explained that if he had an agreement saying he was working with Bravo, the coffee date would’ve been approved by his parole officer and wouldn’t have gotten him in trouble. But after spending years in prison, Tyrone says a coffee date with Shereé wasn’t worth losing his newfound freedom. “I’m not gonna risk my life for anybody to go back to prison,” he declared.

Tyrone says the show edited the scene to make it look like he stood Shereé up, but that was not the case. “I didn’t stand her up. And more importantly Jas, you can’t stand up nobody when they know where you are,” Tyrone quipped.” He claims that Shereé knew he wasn’t going to show up to film because of his probation restrictions and accuses her of calling him early in the morning the day of to tell him, “‘I’m coming to Philly.’ But not saying I’m coming to Philly to tape.” Tyrone seemingly felt like Shereé set the scene up to make it look like he ghosted her when in reality, he had no clue she was coming to visit him that day. As a parolee, Tyrone can’t just film a show whenever he pleases without receiving approval.

Be that as it may, Shereé has moved on and is enjoying the affection and attention she’s receiving from Martell. As a fellow reality star, there’s a lot of chatter surrounding the budding romance. Martell also comes with his own scarred history as a cheater who conceived a child with his ex-wife and mistress around the same time. But Shereé is used to dealing with bad boys. The Real Housewives of Atlanta OG clearly has a thing for men with questionable pasts.
