On The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya Moore was triggered by Ralph Pittman because of his behavior towards his wife, Drew Sidora. Season 14 follows Kenya after her divorce journey with Marc Daly. Despite being one of the few single women in the bunch, Kenya continues to attend group gatherings where the husbands are included. However, as she allows herself time to heal from the mental and emotional trauma of her failed marriage, Kenya has her eyes open. She’s spotting the red flags that the other husbands are showing.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta fans got an inside look into Kenya and Marc’s strained relationship. No matter how hard Kenya tried to get affection from Marc, he was never demonstrative when the cameras were rolling. Now that Kenya has put Marc behind her, she is thinking about the psychological manipulation that troubled partners can project onto their spouses, and she doesn’t mind talking about it. Ralph was under fire after Drew expressed her hurt over his decision to hire a female assistant. However, instead of consoling Drew in front of the group, Ralph told his wife on the show, “Something occurs to you a different way than it occurs to me and it’s fine.”
Ralph’s response set Kenya off, and seemingly triggered her, due to her past trauma from her time with Marc. In Sunday’s RHOA episode, viewers saw Kenya call out Drew’s husband Ralph for his mistreatment of his wife during the cast trip to New York. Once Ralph and Drew’s marital woes began being discussed, Kenya spoke up to defend her fellow housewife. “See, let me say this to you right now. If my husband said that to me, I would flip this table over because that is so disrespectful,” Kenya said to Ralph, as captured by All About The Tea. “You’re basically saying that she’s lying and how it happened was not how it happened,” Kenya quipped. She noted how upset she would be if someone said that to her, “especially if I’m hurting,” she added.
Kenya asked Ralph if he realized how he was “tearing” Drew down every time he shut down her attempts to address their issues. During her confessional, Kenya explained why she blew up on Ralph because he reminded her of her ex-husband. “He’s an assh—. He’s an assh—. I have seen the way he speaks to her and it reminds me of times when Marc would speak to me like that,” she said. Season 13 saw a more distraught and emotional Kenya. The season kicked off with Kenya receiving divorce papers from Marc after three years of marriage. The couple barely made it after welcoming their daughter Brooklyn Daly in September 2018. One year after Brooklyn’s birth, the pair appeared for an interview on The Tamron Hall Show, where Kenya shared her IVF journey to conceive their daughter.
However, two days after the interview aired, Marc filed for divorce from Kenya. The former Miss USA struggled to make the marriage work and continued to refer to herself as a married woman in Season 13, despite Marc’s cold response to her while appearing on the show. The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 14 is introducing a new and improved Kenya, who isn’t going to allow a man to shun his spouse in front of her. Marc has clearly left Kenya scarred and on high alert around certain types of men. Maybe her words can help save Drew’s marriage.
