Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes & Amy Schumer Reportedly Hosting Oscars 2022

Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, and Regina Hall are reportedly slated to host the 94th annual Oscars ceremony. The Academy Awards are set to premiere on March 27 on ABC, with films like Don’t Look Up, Duneand West Side Story vying for Best Picture. However, the show has yet to announce who will be hosting the star-studded show this year.

Variety reports that the three comedians are finalizing the details to host the award show. Schumer is best known for her work on projects like Inside Amy Schumer and Trainwreck. Sykes has appeared in TV shows and films like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Bad Moms. Hall’s acting credits include the Scary Movie franchise, Girls Trip, and Nine Perfect Strangers.

The three would be the first hosts of the Academy Awards since 2018, when Jimmy Kimmel hosted the show. Kevin Hart was set to host in 2019, until controversial tweets surfaced and he backed out of the gig. Since then, the show has been without a host. ABC announced that they planned to change that in 2022.

Since reinstating the hosting spot, everyone from Pete Davidson to the Only Murders in the Building trio of Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin have been rumored to be emceeing the show. The Oscars reportedly featuring three major comedians with well-known resumes would be a major way to bring back the tradition of featuring a host at the ceremony.
