Red Dead Online Update Adds Legendary Alligators, New Bonuses & Discounts

The newest update for Red Dead Online adds legendary alligators in the form of the Legendary Teca Gator and the Legendary Sun Gator, as well as Wheeler, Rawson & Co. catalogue additions and new bonuses and benefits geared towards players who become Naturalists. Red Dead Online is the multiplayer spin-off world of the critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2, a game that earned numerous awards for its attention to detail, compelling gameplay mechanics, and engrossing story. Red Dead Online is also seen by many as the Grand Theft Auto Online equivalent to its respective Rockstar Games franchise, though the former has struggled to garner the same type of fervent fan base the latter has enjoyed for years now.

The online component of Red Dead Redemption 2 just received a major update in the Red Dead Online Naturalist role, which is new to the multiplayer service and offers a different spin on the gameplay loops fans have become accustomed to. The Naturalist role is more about hunting legendary animals and exploring the wilderness than anything else, so it’s set players on the path to once again discovering many of the Red Dead Online secrets and details that are still being uncovered to this day.

Red Dead Online‘s newest update, announced by Rockstar Games earlier today, adds more legendary animals to hunt in the form of two legendary gators, the Teca Gator and Sun Gator. The former is located by the Kamassa River when it is rainy and at night, while the Sun Gator is in the Lannahechee River during foggy mornings. Naturalists can hunt and skin the gators to make them into a special goat, and there are bonuses running through August 10th for those who engage in the hunt as soon as possible.

Of course, as is often the case with any Red Dead Online update, there are more changes and bonuses in the latest one. New catalogue items, including several dresses and hats, are now available, while new colorways of a few items means alligator fashion is back in a big way. On top of this, bonuses to Naturalists are the theme for this Red Dead Online update, including a free Role Accessory, Outfit or Emote for becoming one and more rewards for completing tasks specific to the Naturalist role.

Red Dead Online is pushing the Naturalist update hard, and it makes sense – it’s one of the bigger changes in recent memory and promotes a method of play that not every person will have been interested in prior to all the new incentives. With next-gen gaming on the horizon, Rockstar Games is still steadily pushing out content for its online services – which bodes well for players of both Red Dead Online and GTA Online ahead of an uncertain future for long-lived online service games of the current gen.
