Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire!
Rebel Moon stars Djimon Hounsou and Staz Nair have teased expanded roles for General Titus and Prince Tarak in Part Two: The Scargiver. Hounsou’s Titus is a key part of Kora’s search for allies against the Imperium, given his background with the group prior to his abandoning them. Nair’s Tarak is introduced to the group as former royalty, a young man with an emotional connection to animals.
Speaking with GamesRadar+, both Hounsou and Nair teased the upcoming Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver will develop both their characters in greater detail. The stars indicate Titus and Tarak will forge a friendship driven by similar histories, making them perfect allies. Check out what Hounsou and Nair had to say below:
Hounsou: You would see a better Tarak and you will see a better General Titus. And certainly, it will give you an opportunity to see how they deal with their own demons.
Nair: You get to see how they deal with their demons, how they deal with each other. This really has to be seen as a Part One and Part Two. There’s a reason why it’s not called Rebel Moon One and Rebel Moon Two: these are two parts of the same whole. And what you get is really a deeper dive into the individuals. You really get to understand their backstories, how they got to where they were when you found them, and inevitably connect even more and relate even more to this story. This is ultimately a story about seven humans. We’re heroes; we’re not superheroes. We are flawed. We are imperfect. And you get to see that transition back to redemption a lot more, and some very, very vicious war.
What Will Titus & Tarak Do In Rebel Moon Part 2?
Beyond their initial introductions, Titus and Tarak don’t play a major role in the events of Rebel Moon – Part One. The pair are present throughout many major parts of the film, including the gathering of new allies and an ambush from Admiral Noble. However, neither of them do anything substantial beyond joining the group, indicating they’ll have much larger roles in the next movie.
Rebel Moon – Part One ends with Kora returning to Veldt alongside the group of warriors she’s gathered throughout the film. Although she believes the Admiral is dead, he was brought back to life thanks to the Motherworld’s technology, given the task of capturing the former soldier now living on the moon. This means the next film will be filled with action sequences, no doubt leading to bigger roles for Titus and Tarak.
How Many Rebel Moon Movies Will There Be?
The first two Rebel Moon movies are confirmed and will appear on Netflix, but Zack Snyder has plans to expand his new space opera further.
Since both characters are no longer part of the groups they once belonged to, it’s likely they’ll form a stronger bond during the follow-up film. This could also mean seeing them together in battle, showcasing their teamwork against the Imperium as they defend Veldt. With plenty of action-packed scenes featuring the two still to come, Rebel Moon isn’t done developing these two fierce fighters.
