With her signature “Holla!” and big personality, Heather Thomson certainly made an impression when she joined the Real Housewives of New York cast in season 5. A main cast member for three seasons, the Yummie designer recently made an appearance in season 12. Her return occurred during the current cast’s dramatic trip to Dorinda Medley’s Blue Stone Manor home in the Berkshires. But what has Heather been up to since leaving the show?
Heather is perhaps best remembered for a fight with co-star Luann de Lesseps that lead to one of the many iconic moments of the Bravo series. While on a trip to Turks and Caicos, Heather was uncomfortable with the countess turned singer bringing a random man back to the group’s vacation home. Luann’s response of “Be cool. Don’t be all, like, uncool” is one of the franchise’s most popular quotes, frequently appearing on Bravo merchandise. In a video for The Daily Dish on Bravo TV, Heather explained that she was still not happy about the incident, while also admitting it made for great TV. This video also served as a way for Heather to let fans in on what she’s been doing since.
While on RHONY, Heather was often shown working on her Yummie shapewear line. Since leaving the show, she sold the brand and moved on to some new businesses involving nutrition and wellness. She even went back to school to learn more about nutrition, and is a licensed health and wellness coach. In addition to her business ventures, she frequently travels, often to go hiking and mountain climbing. One notable trip was climbing Mera Peak for charity in 2018, and last year she went mountain climbing in Patagonia, South America. Also frequently appearing on her Instagram are husband of 17 years Jonathan Schindler and their two children, Jax and Ella Rae. Fans may be shocked to see that both of her kids are now teenagers! While on the show, Heather opened up about how Jax had health problems since birth, requiring a liver transplant at only six months old and then dealing with respiratory and hearing issues. Jax has gone through multiple surgeries over the years. When asked about the state of Jax’s hearing in a comment on a recent Instagram post, Heather replied that he was doing well.
Heather is still close friends with fellow RHONY alum Carole Radziwell. The two pals even ran the New York City marathon together in 2017. In the Daily Dish video, Heather shared that she keeps in touch with most of the other New York Housewives including Dorinda, Ramona Singer and Kristen Taekman. In addition to updating fans on her social media, she also posts throwbacks to her time on the Bravo program. So it’s possible she’ll be saying “Holla!” to appearing on the show again in the future!
