Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss Welcomes Baby Girl via Surrogate

Star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss welcomes a baby girl via surrogate. Kandi had shared her journey on the new season of the Bravo show showing how the situation differed from carrying her own child.

Kandi met her current husband while he worked with the production crew on the housewives’ trip to South Africa. It was frowned upon to associate with the talent, but thankfully Todd Tucker took a chance and the couple married in an elaborate “Coming to America” wedding in 2014. The couple was met with some roadblocks due to Burruss’s mother, Joyce, thinking Tucker had cheated on her daughter and was only out to get her money which made the newlywed’s life difficult. Eventually, Joyce got over her issues with her son-in-law and it seems the difficulties have passed. The couple is now excited to announce their new addition to their family.

Burruss announced that she and her husband had welcomed their second child together, a baby girl who was born via a surrogate. E! reported that baby number three was born on Friday, November 22 at 6:54 pm. The couple announced the good news via text message and decided to name the baby, Blaze Tucker. The mother of three said that she was very thankful to add another healthy baby to their family and posed for a picture of her holding hands with her newborn daughter – see the sweet post below:

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star also has a 17-year-old daughter named Riley who she had with her ex Russell Spencer as well as a 3-year-old son, Ace who she had with Tucker. The two had only been married for six years when they learned they had conceived through IVF. The Grammy-winning singer revealed that she would be expanding her family but was a bit nervous to use a surrogate. The reality star spoke to Andy Cohen about her apprehensions saying she was lucky to have had her son Ace and since she had a high-risk pregnancy last time the couple knew they would have to consider surrogacy. Cohen, who had welcomed his child via surrogate recently, had some words of wisdom telling her that she would always be the child’s mother even if it was not born from her womb.

While the couple was at first expecting twins, one embryo did not survive the pregnancy. The couple is still very much over the moon with their new baby girl and is looking forward to spending time bonding with Blaze. Viewers are thrilled to be able to watch Burruss’s journey on the newest season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8pm EST on Bravo.
