Reacher star Alan Ritchson offers an exciting update on the book choice for season 3. Based on Lee Child’s popular novels, the Prime Video show has already adapted the debut novel Killing Floor for season 1. For its sophomore outing, the action drama will turn its attention to Bad Luck and Trouble, which is the eleventh overall book and begins with the main character receiving a coded message and reconnecting with some friends from his past.
In an interview with Cinemablend to discuss Reacher season 2, Ritchson also shed light on what the adaptation’s season 3 might consist of. Although the actor was careful not to reveal too much, he stressed that the upcoming book choice would please fans, noting: “This is going to make people very happy, this book.” Read Ritchson’s full quote below:

Which Book Will Reacher Season 3 Adapt?
There are 28 books in the main Reacher novels, with a 29th installment debuting in 2024. Of those, Worth Dying For adds up to a consensus favorite among readers. Released in 2010, the book has been described as some of Child’s best work. The story takes shape as Jack Reacher arrives in a rural Nebraskan town late one night. In a lowly motel bar, he overhears a drunk doctor who refuses to help a victim of domestic abuse. The doctor changes his tune once Reacher intervenes. Reacher also breaks the nose of the abusive husband. But it turns out that the abusive husband is the scion of a powerful clan, which gets the titular hero caught in an unsolved disappearance.
One Shot is another favorite among readers. Previously adapted for a 2012 movie starring Tom Cruise, the plot of One Shot unfolds in an innocent city. It begins as five murders are committed by an expert sniper. A suspect, James Barr, is arrested, but he calls out for Jack Reacher in a news report. Jack is sure that James is guilty, but the situation becomes something greater than what the protagonist expected.

Amazon has confirmed Reacher season 3 is happening, and the next series should adapt one of Alan Ritchson’s personal favorites of the books.
Ritchson has shed some light on the process that goes into selecting the right Reacher book.
