A rare photo from behind the scenes of Full House shows the whole Tanner family, including Danny being played by a different actor. Now, the How Rude, Tanneritos Podcast has released an image featuring actor John Posey as Danny in Full House‘s pilot episode. The image also features someone who appears to be Pam Tanner, Danny’s deceased wife, played by an actor other than Christine Houser. How Different Would Full House Be Without Bob Saget?
Saget’s performance as Danny has become one of his most recognized roles, acting as a struggling yet earnest father figure for his three daughters. The actor’s abilities bolster his character’s development as he tries to raise his kids while also coping with the loss of his wife. His time on the series also didn’t end with the original show, as he would return for guest appearances in the sequel show Fuller House.
If Posey had continued in the role instead of Saget, he likely would have put his own spin on the characters’ performance. This may have offered a different look at how Danny approached the loss of his wife, and may have also featured different storylines relating to his love life. The series may have also changed around his parenting style, offering a different perspective on how the Tanner girls are raised.
While it would be interesting to see a version of the series with Posey in the lead role, classic episodes of Full House may not have been as memorable without Saget’s performance.
