Rachel Reilly Admits Big Brother Didn’t Prepare Her For The Traitors

Rachel Reilly, who stars in the upcoming Peacock reality competition The Traitors, admitted that her two stints playing Big Brother did not prepare her for the new series. Rachel made her first Big Brother appearance during season 12, where she placed ninth. The following year, Rachel returned for Big Brother 13 and won the season, taking home the $500,000 prize. Hosted by Alan Cumming, The Traitors brings together 10 celebrities and 10 non-celebrity contestants, to compete in a series of challenges in order to win a cash prize of up to $250,000. During the 10-episode season, three contestants, known as “the traitors,” will devise a plan to steal the prize from the rest of the competitors, who are called “the faithful.

In an interview with Heavy, Rachel confessed that The Traitors is so different from Big Brother that nothing could have prepared her for it.

Unlike the latter show, during The Traitors competition, there is no way for players to save themselves or to get into power. Instead, Rachel said that the contestants had to do team building skills “with people who are lying to your face literally every second.” She added that on Big Brother, at least contestants can put all of their energy toward winning something for themselves, but “here you have to still be a team member,” even though people are lying. Rachel already met two of her fellow The Traitors competitors Cirie Fields and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick when they appeared on another reality competition show, Snake in the Grass, with Big Brother legend Janelle Pierzina. Another competitor, Cody Calafiore, is in the Big Brother family.

Rachel said that, although she thought that maybe it would be nice to see familiar faces, she did not know who she could trust. She said it is not the same type of game as Big Brother, in which contestants form alliances that stick together. Rachel revealed that she gets ready for competing on reality shows by doing everything she can think of, including getting in “excellent physical shape, [and] doing puzzles.” For The Traitors in particular, she watched the Dutch version of the show. Even though she did not know what they were saying in many episodes of The Traitors, Rachel got the idea. However, she admitted, “I know what I’m supposed to do, but it did not prepare me at all for the experience.” Rachel concluded by saying that if she had to describe The Traitors in three words, they would be “murder, treachery, and sabotage.”

Rachel is a reality competition show icon. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest physical players in Big Brother history because she won every endurance competition that she ever participated in on the show. She has also competed on three seasons of The Amazing Race, twice with husband Brendon Villegas, and once with her sister and fellow Big Brother alum, Elissa Slater. Rachel currently holds the female record for the most legs ever raced. She is an intelligent and thoughtful player, so, if she is saying that she felt unprepared for The Traitors, then it must be one of the most unique and challenging reality competition shows yet.

Because of its original concept, The Traitors will be an exciting and intriguing reality competition show. Competitors already know the ins and outs of shows such as Big Brother and Survivor, which can become predictable for viewers. Her upcoming show is something completely new and different, and fans will want to binge all ten episodes to watch Rachel and her fellow contestants on The Traitors compete the moment that they are released.

All 10 episodes of The Traitors will be released Thursday, January 12 on Peacock.
