Quantum Leap Season 2’s Major Tom Reveal & Its Implications For Sam And Ben Teased By Star

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Quantum Leap season 2, episode 8!

Quantum Leap star Nanrisa Lee has opened up about season 2’s big reveal from Tom, and what it might mean for Ben and Sam in the show’s future. During the mid-season finale, the US Army Intelligence officer returns from a trip to Washington, D.C. with information that could bring Ben back to the present. This has major implications for Ben’s ability to return to his home time, alongside Sam, the leaper from the original series.

Speaking with TVLine, Lee – who portrays head of security Jenn Chou – indicated what Quantum Leap‘s mid-season finale reveal means for Ben and Sam’s future fates. The actor said Tom’s information will be a big part of the rest of the season as the team tries to get their leaper home. Check out what Lee had to say below:

I think when you have that kind of information, we’re going to see what’s at the end of that. Nobody’s going to shelve that. This is the point of what we’ve all been trying to do since Ben left; we’re just trying to get [him] home. We’ll see if it works.

Could Ben Finally Come Home In Quantum Leap Season 2?

Quantum Leap Season 2’s Major Tom Reveal & Its Implications For Sam And Ben Teased By Star

Ben has been leaping through time since the start of the season, staying in contact with the present day throughout his time away. However, season 2 revealed he was separated from his team for three years on their end, leading his fiancée Addison to begin dating Tom in his absence. Now, his part in the story is becoming clearer, as despite their differences, he may be able to stop the show’s protagonist from leaping.

However, it’s unclear what this means for Ben’s romance with Hannah, a woman from the mid-1900s who he keeps meeting throughout multiple leaps across time. While it’s unclear what Tom’s plan is to bring him home, it’s possible he may be able to bring them both to the present day with his new method. If he does, though, it’s unclear what this would do to the timeline, making it uncertain what the plan really is.

If Tom is able to save Ben, however, it’s good news for original Quantum Leap lead Sam Beckett, who was lost in time by the end of the original show. The method used to possibly get the franchise’s newest hero home could do the same for the original series’. Although it’s still not guaranteed to work just yet, the setup for both show’s protagonists returning home has major implications for what the show will be like in the future.
