Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Trailer Sees Puss Down To His Last Life

Universal Pictures reveals a new trailer for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Released in 2011, Puss in Boots was a spinoff of the Shrek franchise. Starring Antonio Banderas as the sword-fighting outlaw, Puss in Boots centers on the origin story of the titular feline and his misadventures with Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek). Directed by Chris Miller, the first film was a tremendous success and surpassed $555 million at the box office. In 2019, it was announced that a Puss in Boots 2 was in the works. Earlier this year, Dreamworks Animation unveiled the first look at the sequel film, titled Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and a new dog character, Perro (Harvey Guillen).

Now, Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which shows the feline vigilante is down to the last of his nine lives. Directed by Joel Crawford, The Last Wish finds Puss grappling with mortality and fleeing to safety at Mama Luna’s home for cats, where he’s forced to live like a normal house cat. The trailer for The Last Wish highlights crime boss Goldilocks (Florence Pugh) and the Three Bears forcing Puss back into battle after they discover his new hiding spot. Showcasing stunning visuals, hilarious moments with Perro, and plenty of action, the trailer for The Last Wish shows a new epic journey for Puss a decade in the making. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish also stars John Mulaney, Olivia Colman, Ray Winstone, Samson Kayo, Anthony Mendez, and Wagner Moura as The Big Bag Wolf. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will release in theaters on December 21, 2022.
