Psychonauts 2 is a game where the mind plays a significant part of the storyline, and Emotional Baggage is a part of overall mental health. In Psychonauts 2, the main character, Raz, heads into Ford’s mind to do some clean-up as it’s a bit of a mess. There are plenty of collectibles and secrets for players to find here, including Ford’s Emotional Baggage.
Collecting Emotional Baggage in Psychonauts 2 is integral to unlocking Primal Memories. To get the Primal Memories, players have to match Baggage Tags to Emotional Baggage. After players reach the ending of Psychonauts 2, Primal Memories give access to extras such as concept art reels. The Primal Memories expand each character’s story, allowing a deeper dive into their personalities.
In Ford’s Follicles in Psychonauts 2, players will deal with Ford’s barber personality and the dark memories he has, which include the troubled past Ford has with Grulovia and the war that he had to endure in his youth. Raz will also experience explanations of the troubled past Ford has with Maligula. There is only one piece of Emotional Baggage to find in this level, and players will need to find it along with its tag.
How to collect the Steamer Trunk in Ford’s Follicles in Psychonauts 2
After entering Ford’s mind in Psychonauts 2, players will have a conversation with a robot version of Ford on a barbershop pole. The rest of the level will be relatively straightforward, with Raz navigating past swinging razor blades and comb platforms. After getting past some Mites, the Robot Ford will show up a second time, which is a good sign that players are getting close to the Emotional Baggage.
After a bit of battling, more Mites appear, and Raz arrives at a large canister of Hydrocide with a statue on it. Knocking the Hydrocide down will make it leak fluid, removing the Mites. After knocking it down, players can head toward the platform with the help sign and jump to it. Immediately after the help sign, players should stay on the right side and go past the Victory Shampoo poster. The Emotional Baggage is just beyond this poster. Players should hear it crying as they approach, and Raz will comment that it must be nearby.
The Baggage is a Steamer Trunk that is only one collectible out of five needed to unlock a reel of Primal Memory for the Ford’s Follicles area. Players can find the tag for this Steamer Trunk on the steps after they fight the first Censors during the level. The tag is difficult to miss but is required for this Psychonauts 2 collectible to count.
