Psychonauts 2: How to Increase Psitanium Capacity

Psychonauts 2: How to Increase Psitanium Capacity

Psitanium is a vital currency available in Psychonauts 2. As with many 3D platformers, players will come across some sort of currency they can use to purchase upgrades, items, and more gear. In the case of Psychonauts 2, this is the main method of making purchases throughout the various minds of the spy organization.

After they fall into some trouble, it is up to Raz to enter their minds, and free them from their torment using his robust abilities. The game even features an invincibility mode for better accessibility. There is nothing worst than losing currency simply because the player doesn’t have enough space for it. Fortunately, Psychonauts 2 does offer a few different chances to level up how much Psitanium they can carry.

Players will begin their adventures in Psychonauts 2 with only being able to carry about 100 Psitanium at a time. This is fine for the early game but as levels become more robust and complex, upgrades of Psychonauts 2’s new powers are required to keep up with it. Psitanium can be used to purchase healing items from shops and vending machines so players should aim to upgrade their wallets as quickly as possible.

Purchasing Psitanium Wallet Upgrades in Psychonauts 2

There are 2 separate upgrades in Psychonauts 2 for players to unlock for their Psitanium wallet. Fortunately, collecting them both isn’t too difficult but may require a few different trips into older levels to earn enough Psitanium. Both of these upgrades are available purchase at the Otto-Matic machines, located in the main hub of the game.

  • Psifold Wallet: This can be purchased from the Otto-Matic machine for 75 Psitanium. This is a permanent upgrade and will allow players to go from 100 at a time to 1000. Players can find Psitanium scattered around the Motherlobe.
  • Astral Wallet: This can also be purchased from the Otto-Matic machine later in the game. Although, this one will cost players 750 Psitanium to unlock.

With these two upgrades, players should be able to carry as much Psitanium as they need. This is vital for purchasing every item available in the shop, and should be a priority over every other item in the shop. It’s way too frequent in the early game for players to leave around Psitanium because they don’t have the space to carry it. Keeping a steady stream of Psitanium flowing into Raz’s wallet is actually worth it, now that Psychonauts 2 had fixed the original game’s biggest problem, post-game content.

Psychonauts 2 is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
