PS Plus Games For May 2021 Are Battlefield 5, Wreckfest, & Stranded Deep

Sony has unveiled the PlayStation Plus titles that subscribers can claim in May 2021 – Battlefield V, Stranded Deep, and Wreckfest: Drive Hard, Die Last. As is often the case, the announcement of a new PS Plus lineup means the current offerings are on their way out the door.

Members have until Monday, May 3 to claim April 2021’s PS Plus titles, which include Days Gone, Zombie Army 4: Dead War, and Oddworld: Soulstorm. Notably, the Oddworld adventure is only available to play on the PlayStation 5, while April’s other two entries are downloadable on both PS4 and PS5. This year’s free titles have been good to PS Plus subscribers, thus far. In January, the lineup included Maneater on PS5, Greedfall, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. February’s freebies were made up of Control: Ultimate Edition, Concrete Genie, and Destruction AllStars. March followed up with a strong list of its own that boasted Final Fantasy VII Remake, in addition to Maquette, Farpoint, and Remnant: From the Ashes.

PlayStation Plus’ free games for May 2021 are notable, as well. The lineup will give subscribers on PS4 and PS5 access to first-person shooter Battlefield V and open-world survival title Stranded Deep. Meanwhile, full-contact racer Wreckfest: Drive Hard, Die Last serves as the PS5-exclusive freebie for May. PS Plus members can expect all of the above titles to become available to download on Tuesday, May 4, Sony revealed in a PlayStation Blog post this morning.

The upcoming additions to Sony’s PS Plus service are rather varied. A first-person military shooter, Battlefield V takes Electronic Arts’ long-running series back to its World War II roots and boasts a new gameplay experience in the form of the Firestorm battle royale mode. Stranded Deep, on the other hand, places players in the role of a plane crash survivor who must overcome the challenges of surviving on the Pacific Islands. And Wreckfest couldn’t be anymore different from its PS Plus counterparts, thanks to its demolition derby-inspired, high-octane racing gameplay.

As the PS Plus service continues to expand, so, too, does its number of dedicated users. In December 2020, for example, Sony reported a subscriber number that totaled approximately 41.5 million. The publisher’s latest earnings report, which went live earlier today, made note of 47.6 million PS Plus members.

May 2021’s PlayStation Plus offerings will become available on Tuesday, May 4.
