Princess Peach soars down Rainbow Road in a new poster for The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The new film, directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, with a screenplay by Matthew Fogel, comes out April 7. Starring alongside Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach are Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.
On her Instagram, Taylor-Joy shared a new character poster for The Super Mario Bros. Movie that features Princess Peach riding down the iconic Rainbow Road. Check out the poster below:

Why Taylor-Joy In The Super Mario Bros. Movie Is Exciting
Taylor-Joy has made an exciting career since her breakout debut performance in writer-director Robert Eggers’ The Witch in 2015. Since then, she’s starred as Beth Harmon in the Netflix hit The Queen’s Gambit and in Edgar Wright’s horror film Last Night in Soho. She also has a recurring role on Peaky Blinders as Gina Gray. Last year was a busy one for Taylor-Joy, as she starred in Eggers’ critically acclaimed The Northman, The Menu, and David O. Russell’s Amsterdam. She’ll also be playing the titular Furiosa in George Miller’s prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road.
With her filmography so far, and her undeniable talent onscreen, Taylor-Joy is a warmly welcomed addition to The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s already stacked cast. The trailers so far tease Taylor-Joy’s Princess Peach as a fierce rendition of the character, stripping away and even role-reversing the character being a damsel in distress. In the upcoming film, Princess Peach seems to be a mentor figure instead.
The new character poster shared by Taylor-Joy further shapes Princess Peach to be a never-before-seen version of the character, as she pulls ahead of the competition in whatever race is being held in the poster. The Super Mario Bros. Movie marks the first major voice acting role for Taylor-Joy, and it will give her the opportunity to make her mark on an iconic character. Taylor-Joy will surely bring a great deal of personality to the beloved Princess Peach.
