Pretty Little Liars: Every Secondary Character, Ranked By Likability

Pretty Little Liars: Every Secondary Character, Ranked By Likability

The major characters on Pretty Little Liars know what it’s like to have a lot on their plates. While in high school, they balance homework with being stalked, and at any turn, romance is met with heartbreak. As they get older, they try to leave their town behind and get pulled right back in. It doesn’t feel like they can ever escape the situation that they’ve been in since… forever.

Rosewood is a scary place and the secondary characters on the show all have something to do with the mystery of Ali going missing and the people who are stalking the liars. From romantic partners to classmates, enemies to friends, these characters aren’t all very nice or compassionate.

Noel Kahn

Pretty Little Liars: Every Secondary Character, Ranked By Likability

Since Noel is on the “A” team, there’s no way that PLL fans could like him — not even a little bit.

Noel is a truly bad guy and always seems like he’s one step away from trying to kill the liars. He’s always hanging out in sketchy situations and no one can trust him.

Jason DiLaurentis

jason on pretty little liars

Ali’s brother Jason gives off a creepy and strange vibe. He comes back to Rosewood at odd times and he doesn’t seem to have a good relationship with Ali, either.

Jason has a tough time in high school, as he grew up believing that Charles was someone whom he made up instead of his actual sister. He starts learning more about his family and when he gets the truth, it’s tough to deal with. While it’s understandable that he would suffer, he just doesn’t seem very pleasant to be around, and the liars don’t like him.

Jenna Marshall

Jenna wearing black shades after being blinded in Pretty Little Liars

Jenna does some terrible things to her stepbrother Toby, as she’s in love with him and it’s hard to forget about that.

While the liars were wrong to play a prank that resulted in her losing her eyesight, Jenna is wrong to try to get even, so they’re all behaving badly. Jenna seems like she has really bad intentions.

Byron Montgomery

byron mongomery on pretty little liars

Rosewood is a terrifying town and the main characters deal with a lot of personal issues as well as the main mystery.

Byron cheats on his wife Ella, and Aria and her brother Mike have to deal with this tough situation. It’s hard to like a father who would do that to his family, and despite the fact that Aria’s parents reunite, he’s not a very well-liked secondary character.

Mike Montgomery

Mike talking on Pretty Little Liars

Aria’s brother Mike isn’t a very loveable person. He’s moody and angry and takes his parents’ trouble out on anyone who happens to be around. He becomes a bit more compelling when he and Mona Vanderwaal date, but it’s not really enough to make fans care about him.

Melissa Hastings

Spencer and Melissa talking on Pretty Little Liars

Melissa is the one who buried Bethany Young alive, and for most of the series, she and Spencer hate each other.

It’s tough to like Melissa, as she has a holier-than-thou attitude and always makes Spencer feel like she isn’t good enough. Spencer feels that pressure to be as smart and successful as her older sister. Melissa always seems very creepy for the majority of the show, as no one is sure how involved she is with “A,” so that doesn’t help her case.

Wren Kingston

Spencer, Wren, and Melissa talking on Pretty Little Liars

Wren has quite the journey on this beloved show. At first, he and Melissa are engaged, and he kisses Spencer. Then fans learn his true nature: he’s in a relationship with Spencer’s evil twin, Alex Drake. It’s tough to like him after that, although fans thought that he was pretty nice and charming before that big twist.

Ella Montgomery

Ella Montgomery looking serious on Pretty Little Liars

Aria’s mother Ella isn’t a terrible person, and she has to deal with her husband’s infidelity, which is really tough.

Ella doesn’t have a striking or interesting personality, though, so she’s not one of the most popular secondary characters on this teen drama. Aria makes some bad decisions and it seems like her family turmoil is to blame for some of it.

Jordan Hobart

Caleb talking to Jordan and Hanna on Pretty Little Liars.

Jordan is in the middle of likable and unlikeable secondary characters on PLL.

If Caleb wasn’t around, then fans would probably think that Jordan was a perfect husband for Hanna, as he doesn’t seem like a bad person. However, the fact that Jordan and Hanna are planning a wedding spells doom for her one true love, so fans can’t really agree with this match.

Lucas Gottesman

Lucas on Pretty Little Liars

Lucas has a big crush on Hanna and since she’s in love with Caleb Rivers, he’s heartbroken to think that they will just be friends.

Lucas might not be cool or excel in social situations but he’s smart and he attempts to help the girls fight “A” when he can. He’s one of those people who will have a miserable high school experience and will do much better later on.

Veronica Hastings

Veronica Hastings on Pretty Little Liars

Veronica is a good mother to Spencer, although they both hide a lot of secrets and pain from one another.

Veronica is one of the most likable secondary characters as she doesn’t have many negative qualities. Sure, it takes her a while to tell Spencer that Mary Drake is her mother, and it would have been great if that happened before the seventh and final season. But at least Veronica is open and honest with her daughter… eventually.

Pam Fields

pam fields pretty little liars

Fans love watching Emily on PLL and her mother is one of the nicest secondary characters.

Pam loves Emily and gets mad at other parents for not supporting their children, so she’s definitely one of the most endearing people on the show. She doesn’t have a hand in any of the mysteries in Rosewood and there’s no reason to dislike her. When Pam loses her husband, she becomes even more sympathetic.

Ashley Marin

Ashley and Hanna Marin sitting in their kitchen on Pretty Little Liars

Hanna’s life was never without issues but thankfully she has a fantastic parent as her main support system.

While Ashley isn’t flawless, as she gets into hot water quite a few times throughout the show, she is around for her daughter when it matters. Ashley is one of the most loveable secondary characters because she’s kind but spirited and she does what she has to do to help her daughter.

Maya St. Germain

maya st germain pretty little liars

Maya falls in love with Emily in the first season and their relationship is really sweet. She’s one of the first people whom Emily becomes close to outside of her main friend group.

Maya’s murder is one of the most emotional moments on the series and a low point for Emily, who must come to terms with losing such a crucial person in her life.

Paige McCullers

emily and paige on pretty little liars

While Emily and Paige loathe each other at first, they fall in love and become a fan-favorite pairing.

Paige is the most likable secondary character on Pretty Little Liars as she grows a lot during her romance with Emily, becoming a more secure person who can stand up for herself. She’s tough and realizes that she wants to be with Emily and that she doesn’t care what other people think. It’s sad that things don’t work out between this couple, but they make a huge impression on each other’s lives during their relationship.
