Predator: Hunting Grounds – Predacore Tips & Tricks

Fans of the Predator franchise are met with a treat with the release of Predator: Hunting Grounds, as it provides the premier experience for fans of the series. Providing fans with a similar premise of the original film, pitting a team of Fireteam members versus one murderous Predator, the game is what fans have been asking for for years. Drawing inspiration from similar 4 versus 1 style of games such as Dead by Daylight, the title forces players into a deadly game of cat and mouse. The player-controlled Predator armed with all the gadgets from the series is tasked with hunting down and eliminating the Fireteam members while the commandos must complete a variety of objectives or defeat the alien hunter. The game embodies what fans of the series love so much about the franchise, personifying the violent, tense, and awesome tone that the series has lacked in its recent incarnations.

Part of what makes Hunting Grounds so charming is the meticulous application of its source material into gameplay. From the Predator’s Kamikaze Self-Destruct ability to his thermal vision, the title implements the film’s gadgets and weapons flawlessly into the duration of a match. One of the most interesting systems added into Hunting Ground’s gameplay is the Predator player’s ability to traverse the treeline. This Predcore system is one of the most important aspects of playing as the Predator, and a player’s understanding of this ability will determine a player’s success with the character. This guide will provide some essential tips and tricks for players learning and mastering the Predcore system within Predator: Hunting Grounds.

The Basics of Predcore in Predator: Hunting Grounds

Predator: Hunting Grounds – Predacore Tips & Tricks

Predcore is the name of the system which allows the Predator to climb trees, jump from branch to branch, and his overall traversability. Mastering this system is the key to becoming a solid Predator player. However, before mastery can enter the discourse,  learning the basics is key to success.

When climbing and jumping from tree to tree the Predator’s available path will be marked with a red line. This bright path is the marking for where a Predator player can run or climb. If a tree branch is not glowing red it is not usable if it is, you’re good to run and jump towards it.

The Predator is also able to jump to other nearby branches or tree bases and is not limited to only one path. Learning how to identify which branch is jumpable is a key aspect of using Predcore to its fullest ability.

Use Predcore to Scout in Predator: Hunting Grounds

The reason why Predcore is so instrumental within Hunting Grounds is its versatility. It provides the Predator an unmatched vantage point in the maps of Hunting Grounds. So using this ability to scout out and determine the location of each player is key for success.

When scouting, using the tallest tree in a given location is key. It provides the Predator player to look at a larger radius and determine where exactly the Fireteam is located. Use your thermal vision to help find the Fireteam if you are having a hard time pinning down the squad.

Use Predcore to Chase Down Fleeing Prey in Predator: Hunting Grounds

When using Predcore, the Predator player is given unparalleled speed. This is due to the lack of obstacles available for the Predator compared to the rocks, stumps, and other obstacles found on the Jungle Floor. Use this to your advantage when chasing down the enemy Fireteam.

The best way to traverse the Treeline quickly is to hop from one branch to another rapidly and find the most linear path to chase down the Fireteam. This may be a difficult concept to implement at first but with some practice, it will become second nature.

A solid way to become quick with your Predcore maneuvering is to take time and truly memorize a particular map’s layout. Learning what trees are best and the most linear. The general encampments that Fireteam players tend to head towards. This will not only increase your Predcore capabilities but also your overall Predator success.

The overall movement speed that Predcore provides the Predator is crucial to hunting down and defeating Fireteam members.

Using Predcore to Attack in Predator: Hunting Grounds

What makes Predcore as a system so valuable for Predator players is its incredible positional advantage. As mentioned earlier the Treeline is the undisputed highest vantage point in the game. This reality provides some crucial versatility for Predator players to use to pick off enemy Fireteam members.

Most Predator players will agree the primary weakness of the alien is his frequent defeats at the hands of Fireteam members. His large size makes the alien hunter a true bullet sponge, so for a Predator hunting from the jungle floor is a death sentence. However, attacking from a distance using the treeline is a powerful tactic to defeat members of the Fireteam.

Whether it be with the Predator’s laser cannon, his bow and arrow, or whatever ranged weapon you use, attacking over long-distance provides several important advantages. The first being it is much more difficult to defeat the Predator when he is hiding in the treeline and peppering the Fireteam while constantly moving. This reduces the chances of the Fireteam being able to quickly defeat the Predator player.

It also opens up the possibility of the Predator being able to defeat one to two Fireteam members which allows him the opportunity to take a more aggressive approach. After wiping out half of the Fireteam, the enemy commando’s offensive capabilities are significantly reduced. Providing a smart Predator player the chance to hop down and take a more melee-oriented approach to kill the Fireteam.

The advantage that Predcore present Predator players are immense in the right hands. So mastering the art of Predcore will drastically increase a Predator’s hunting capabilities. Making him a true threat on the Hunting Grounds.
