Poster Friday: New Moon, Caprica, The Crazies & More!

Happy Friday everyone! For our first Friday of October 2009, we’ve again gathered the latest posters to come out for this week’s poster round-up.

Screen Rant’s wall this week now includes new one-sheets for The Princess and the Frog, Caprica, The Crazies, The Mechanic, Stone, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, Saw VI, The Twilight Saga’s New Moon and Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant.

In addition to that we have two bonus posters from two major upcoming films that you need to check out! Also, there’s some very creative road sign parody posters of classic films, as well as some older and strange looking posters from Ghana.

Let’s get to it.

To start, here’s another new poster for The Princess and the Frog that looks nearly identical to last week’s The Princess and the Frog poster except for the blue background. Again, note the classic and beautifully hand-drawn art for Disney’s next addition to its 2D library:

In case you missed them, here are the three New Moon posters released earlier in the week.

Our bud Brad Miska at Bloody-Disgusting put up the new official one-sheet for the remake of The Crazies.

The original, made by the legendary George A. Romero, debuted in 1973 and the remake stars Timothy Olyphant.

Cinematical posted some very strange movie posters from Ghana including the following two from Terminator and Evil Dead 2.

They were created by local artists in the 1980-90s as they did not have official promotions or marketing for how they viewed the films; on TVs through VHS – all powered by generators.

Be sure to check the other ones out at Cinematical.

Two Saw VI blood drive posters:

Saw VI opens October 23, 2009.

Our good friends at JoBlo put up some very cool and creative posters designed as road signs – they’re based on popular movies that if you’ve seen them, you’ll get the design.

The posters were created by Edgar Ascensão of Brain Mixer and you can head on over there to see more.

And last but not least, we of course have the weekly bonus image (this week we have two!). To start, here’s a poster for Marvel’s Thor!

I think I prefer the fan-made Captain America poster from a few weeks back

The real Thor film starring Chris Hemsworth debuts May 20, 2011 and will be directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Our second bonus, and maybe you’ve already seen this, is a fan-made poster for The Hobbit that I came across the other day.

It depects Ian Holm as Bilbo Baggins along with Ian McKellen as Gandalf.

If you missed it, last week’s Poster Friday added the following new posters to Screen Rant’s wall: The Princess and the Frog, Planet 51, Taking Woodstock, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Blood Creek, Moon, Tooth Fairy, Yes Men Fix The World, Pandorum, Dread, Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant.

What’s your favorite of this week’s batch of one-sheets? I would have to say that my favorites this week are the Dune and Mad Max 2 road sign posters.

Come back next Friday for the latest!
