As the world of Poppy Playtime develops, some fans are theorizing that the mysterious Experiment 1006 may actually be a heroic figure. The behavior displayed there has led to fresh questions concerning his true goals and motivations.

Project: Playtime has provided fans with plenty of new information and lore to consider in regard to the many mysteries of Playtime Co. An intriguing Poppy Playtime ARG revealing secrets in the lead-up to Project: Playtime was a key part of this, but the early access game has now provided fresh insight into the personality of Experiment 1006 itself. Poppy Playtime Theory Explained: Is Experiment 1006 Really A Good Guy?

It is strongly implied that the enormous living toys created by Playtime Co. are made with living humans, most notably children. The fact that Experiment 1006 appears to oppose this has hence cast him in a new light for many fans. For example, following a dark theory about Poppy Playtime’s gas mask in the upcoming Chapter 3. MatPat of The Game Theorists on YouTube has recently released a new theory about 1006. This new video expounds the idea that 1006, previously believed to be the main villain of Poppy Playtime, will actually be revealed to be the hero of the story.

Poppy Playtime’s Experiment 1006 Could Still Have A Secret Agenda

However, while 1006 appears to have a noble goal in Project: Playtime, it is also worth considering that his other actions still leave unanswered questions about his motivations. For example, if 1006 is truly benevolent, then why does Mommy Long Legs treat him with such fear in the ending of Chapter 2? Former Playtime Co. employee Marie Payne, the Poppy Playtime villain’s final lines imply that 1006 aims to incorporate other toys into himself. This could potentially lead to him acquiring their own unique abilities, thereby empowering himself, but this does not match the protectiveness shown in Project: Playtime; the unseen toy may well have another goal in mind.

Experiment 1006 is noted to be both highly intelligent and adept in cooperation. As such, it is possible that he is actually seeking to gain the loyalty of the toys in Project: Playtime for his own ends. Perhaps, rather than simply seeking an end to Playtime Co., he is actually interested in building an army for some unknown purpose. On the other hand, another of MatPat’s newest assertions is that the true identity of Poppy Playtime’s mysterious Prototype is Elliot Ludwig, Playtime Co.’s founder. If true, then this would further complicate 1006’s motivations, being a man potentially betrayed by his company going down a dark path.

With so little information about Experiment 1006 available, it is impossible to fully discern his motives at this time. The Prototype may be a manipulative killer, or simply a tormented man trying to correct his company’s crimes. 1006’s obscurity has previously led to other theories being produced by fans, many of which have since been disproved. Any new theories about 1006 are just as likely to be affected by future reveals. Examples of this include one theory that Poppy Playtime’s player is Experiment 1006 themselves. To find the truth, Poppy Playtime fans can only wait for Chapter 3 and the new revelations it will undoubtedly bring.
