Pokémon’s Next Two Squishmallows Couldn’t Be More Perfect

The next Pokémon Squishmallows have been officially announced and are the perfect definition of a fitting match. Squishmallows are a brand of plush toys that have become popular, especially over the past year. The brand gained further attention after its announced collaboration with the Pokémon franchise.

The first two Pokémon Squishmallows were Pikachu, the series’ mascot, and Gengar, a beloved Ghost-type creature from Generation 1. For its second batch, Squishmallows is still playing it safe, by bringing models of classic Pokémon to its roster. In fact, one of them is a Gen 1 creature, while the other one is a remarkable Gen 2 Pokémon.

Snorlax & Togepi Are The New Pokémon Squishmallows

As announced by Squishmallow through a post on the brand’s official Instagram profile, the next two products in their Pokémon-Squishmallow collaboration are Snorlax, the Sleeping Pokémon from Gen 1, and Togepi, the Spike Ball Pokémon from Gen 2. Both of them are fairly popular creatures in the franchise. While none of them are exactly great contenders when it comes to the competitive scenario, they did leave a mark from their appearances in the classic Pokémon anime, when they turned out to be fan favorites.

The New Pokémon Squishmallows Fit The Plush Theme Like No Other

By bringing in Snorlax and Topepi as the next Pokémon Squishmallow plush toys, the brand hits its mark when it comes to fluffy accuracy. Besides the fact that they are creatures beloved by the community, both of them fit the whole toy plush theme quite well. Snorlax, for instance, is known for its drowsiness and robust body type, which makes it be perceived as a largely huggable Pokémon – which fans will be able to do should they acquire this Pokémon Squishmallow, a product built for that specific purpose. Using it as a pillow to decorate a bed also makes it fit its own sleeping theme.

Getting a Togepi Pokémon Squishmallow, on the other hand, can easily make customers feel like Misty herself. Togepi is well-known for its cuteness and, in the classic Pokémon anime, the Water-type Gym Leader from Cerulean City would carry it around in her arms throughout her many adventures with Ash. By getting a Togepi-themed Squishmallow, players can relive the nostalgia while also being allowed to actually squish the product without harming any Pokémon in the process.

Both Snorlax and Togepi were among the many new Pokémon Squishmallow designs that fans were asking for. Seeing that the brand catered to a part of their desires, it is likely that future models will do the same, bringing in Eevee, Jigglypuff, and more. For now, players will have to content themselves with the recently announced ones or the wave 1 Pikachu and Gengar Pokémon Squishmallows.
