Pokémon Unite’s Lucario & Crustle Bugs Fixed In New Patch

The developer of Pokémon Unite has announced that fighters Lucario and Crustle have both been fixed following recent bugs introduced in the game’s mobile launch update. The Pokémon Unite characters received unexpected buffs following the release of the update, providing some players with unintended boons when in certain circumstances.

Pokémon Unite is a 5v5 multiplayer online battle arena game and the latest Pokémon game release in the longstanding series. The title launched on Nintendo Switch this summer, before coming to mobile earlier this September. The game challenges teams with defeating opponent Pokémon and scoring goals to win across 10-minute-long matches, and as expected from such a game, various characters have received buffs and nerfs to help keep the game balanced. Earlier this month, Crustle and Lucario were accidentally buffed alongside a host of Pokémon Unite fighters who were meant to be rebalanced, including Charizard and Venusaur.

Announcing the news on Twitter, Pokémon Unite has confirmed that the two issues for Pokémon fighters Crustle and Lucario have now been fixed within the game. Lucario will no longer be able to deal more damage than planned with its Extreme Speed attack, while Crustle’s “unintended strength boost” has also been fixed. Players will find the new update live when they next log into Pokémon Unite.

Any Pokémon Unite players who’ve been using the accidental buffs to their advantage will no longer be able to do so, with the fixes helping those who’ve been struggling against any unintendedly over-powered Pokémon on the battlefield. The company hasn’t yet confirmed the exact set of circumstances needed to replicate the buffs, and likely won’t so as to avoid players being able to misuse any similar exploits in the future. Balancing is important in a multiplayer like Pokémon Unite, as it ensures that the in-game matches and fights are as fair as possible for all.

TiMi Studio Group has been fairly quick in implementing the game fixes after announcing the news of the unintended Crustle buff less than a week ago. The developer is committed to ensuring the game is as fairly balanced as possible, and with the title in constant development, players can likely expect any future Pokémon Unite bugs and glitches to also be addressed fairly quickly. With Pokémon Unite‘s big mobile launch a success, the developer is focused on improving the game experience with plans to add new Pokémon fighters and gameplay updates in the future.
