Pokémon TCG Leaks Reveal Mewtwo VSTAR, Suicune V, and Leafeon V Alt Art

A new Pokémon Trading Card Game leak reveals alternate art for Mewtwo VSTAR, Suicune V and Leafeon V that may be part of this year’s VSTAR Universe set. While the Pokémon franchise originated as a monster collection video game, the franchise’s beloved trading card game has been going strong since 1996. The Pokémon Company recently revealed Pokémon TCG Scarlet and Violet cards, which will depict new creatures from the upcoming games, and now VSTAR Universe alternate art has allegedly been leaked. The Pokémon Trading Card Game has grown dramatically since Wizards of the Coast first began publishing the card collection game. Over the years the franchise has expanded its roster from 151 individual Pokémon to over 900 different species, and the trading card game always expands to tie into each new video game. Pokémon TCG has also introduced a variety of new gameplay mechanics over the years, with the VSTAR system being the card game’s newest feature. First introduced in the Sword & Shield – Brilliant Stars expansion released earlier this year, the Pokémon Trading Card Game VSTAR system involves powerful cards that reward the opponent with Prize Cards once defeated.Related: Pokémon TCG Alolan Vulpix VSTAR Card & More Officially RevealedAs reported by PokéBeach, three new alternate Pokémon Trading Card Game cards from the upcoming VSTAR Universe expansion have apparently been leaked. These cards give Mewtwo VSTAR, Suicune V and Leafeon V beautiful new art for collectors to hunt down. The VSTAR Universe set, expected to arrive in Japan on December 2, 2022, will cap off the year by rereleasing and reprinting popular cards with new original artwork. This leak is unconfirmed, however, so Pokémon Trading Card Game collectors should keep an eye out for an official announcement.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Prepares For VSTAR Universe

While many players enjoy hunting down rare specialty cards, some feel that Pokémon TCG Ultra Rares have begun to spoil the fun of collecting. The Pokemon TCG has gradually increased the size of sets over the years, making it increasingly difficult and expensive to acquire every Rainbow or Gallery card in a set. Ultra Rare pull rates have not been adjusted to reflect the card game’s larger expansions, either, meaning that more packs must be purchased to find coveted specialty cards.

Between the new reveal of Scarlet and Violet cards and the newly introduced VSTAR system, 2022 has been a good year for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The upcoming VSTAR Universe set looks to celebrate the year’s greatest hits by giving Mewtwo VSTAR, Suicune V and Leafeon V brand-new artwork for the occasion. While the leaked artwork is unofficial, it does suggest that these three Pokémon TCG cards have received quite the makeover.
