Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: How to Get the Amulet Coin (& What It’s For)

Players trying to get more money in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can use the Amulet Coin to receive a boost to their earnings in the game. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet provide players with tons of options to gain cash, such as selling items or winning trainer battles, but with the Amulet Coin equipped, the amount of money they receive will significantly increase. The Amulet Coin is given to players by the Pokémon League Rep, at the Northeast Medali Pokémon Center, but first, players will need to beat five trainers.

The Amulet Coin is a held item in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that when given to a Pokémon for them to hold will provide players with double the normal payout for winning trainer battles as long as that Pokémon participates at some point in the fight. The effect will still apply even if that Pokémon faints during the battle, or by simply having him out at any point. For this reason, if players do not wish to use that Pokémon in the encounter, it may be a good idea to have it as the primary Pokémon and switch to another one during the first round of combat.

According to GamesRadar, the Pokémon League Rep in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is an NPC with a suit and a mustache that can be found at the Northeast Medali Pokémon Center. Before he gives players the Amulet Coin, however, players will need to beat five trainers in the West Province (Area Three) region, something that players might achieve without even realizing it. Trainers in the area have Pokémon that range from level 30 to level 35 and most can be found by going to the northeast of town. After finding and beating five trainers, players should head back to the Pokémon League Rep to receive their Amulet Coin.

After that, players can give the Amulet to one of their Pokémon in order to benefit from its effects, by going to the “Other Items” menu and selecting a Pokémon to hold it. As long as that Pokémon participates in any round of combat, players will then receive double the amount of cash they would otherwise by winning the battle. As players face stronger and stronger trainers in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, this item will start providing even more value, allowing players to comfortably afford any item they might need in the game.
