In a recent interview, Christina Aguilera talked about some of her and her daughter’s favorite Nintendo Switch games, mentioning they got the chance to try out the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Arceus early – and that it has gorgeous graphics. This news comes shortly after Aguilera starred in a family-focused Nintendo Switch advertisement with her son and daughter. Nintendo consoles are frequently marketed to bring audiences games with cooperative experiences and a family-friendly tone.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set to release this January, and is expected to take on new qualities and mechanics that could mark a departure from previous Pokémon games. While previous speculation suggest Pokémon Legends: Arceus would be open-world, game developers confirmed this would not be the case – however, players can expect a variety of fresh features – Pokémon Legends: Arceus will have several new Pokémon forms, for Pokémon like Zoroark, Braviary, and Growlithe. Rumors also suggest there are likely more Pokémon forms to be revealed.
In an interview with Elle on her new ambassadorship with Nintendo, Aguilera opened up about what games she has been playing, including praise for the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Arceus. However, Aguilera did mention her daughter was having so much fun with it, she didn’t give her mother a turn on the new Pokémon game. But Aguilera mentioned Pokémon Legends: Arceus is “so gorgeous, the graphics and the setting that you get to explore in…” With no news about the upcoming Pokémon title over the last month as Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl dominate the conversation, Aguilera’s comments serve as a reminder for what is yet to come for the popular franchise.
Aguilera mentioned she and her daughter only had a brief moment to try out the new Pokémon game while on the set of the aforementioned Nintendo advertisement, which makes sense given it still isn’t due to release until next month. Aguilera’s comments indicate demo or review copies may not be far from reaching a wider audience, presenting an opportunity to finally uncover some of the rumors that have been flying around lately – such as the theory that a new Gastrodon form will be in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Though, it is likely that certain information will be kept well under wraps until the game’s full release this January.
While news about this highly anticipated game is certainly exciting and visuals are certainly important, it is important to remember Aguilera admitted she hasn’t actually played the game herself. For now, only time will reveal what mysteries remain in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, like what Pokémon Warden Arezu is protecting, or if new Pokémon from Legends: Arceus will eventually find their way into other games via Pokémon Home or other means.
