Pokémon Horizons: New Episode 20 Release Time

Pokémon Horizons episode #20 involves Liko and Roy meeting up with the Galar Gym Leader, Kabu, who agrees to give them a little special training in his gym. Here’s everything a fan needs to know about watching the series’ latest episodes at the moment.

When Do Pokémon Horizons Episodes Release?

Pokémon Horizons: New Episode 20 Release Time

Pokémon Horizons airs new episodes on TV Tokyo at 6:55 PM JST each Friday. For the US West Coast, that’s 2:55 AM on Friday, and 5:55 AM for the US East Coast, an inconvenient time to say the least. The broadcasts are, of course, in Japanese without English subtitles, making it necessary to understand at least a bit of Japanese in order to follow the plot. An English dub for Pokémon Horizons has been confirmed for late 2023, but no more specific date is currently available.

What Happened in Pokémon Horizons Episode #19?

Pokemon Horizons: Murdock & Alcremie

Pokémon Horizons Episode #19 saw the crew setting foot in the Galar region for the first time, with Liko and Roy accompanying Murdock on a supply run into Motostoke. While there, Murdock attempted to acquire an item for Dot, a specialty cotton candy produced only by Murdock’s former friend and fellow patisserie, Mitchell. Murdock reveals his past with Mitchell, and how the Milcery they both worked with evolved into the Alcremie that now travels with him. Liko resolves to help them bury the hatchet, setting up a double battle that rapidly descends into a baking contest, where they resolve their differences. All this excitement managed to draw Kabu’s attention, allowing Liko and Roy to meet the Gym Leader.

Pokémon Horizons Episode #20 Involves Galar Gym Training

Pokemon Horizons: Litwick in Kabu's gym.

The next episode of Pokémon Horizons is focusing on Liko and Roy again, as the duo head over to Motostoke Stadium with Kabu for some special training. They’re shown participating in a double battle together, which hopefully goes better than their previous attempts at cooperating in battle against Captain Pikachu have. It looks like Liko and Roy may have to engage with the gym trial as well, as many Litwick are seen hiding in the grass, just like in Motostoke Stadium’s gym trial from Pokémon Sword and Shield. Once they’ve finished up in Motostoke, the airship crew will be heading deeper into Galar by train, hoping to lose any Explorers who might be following them.

The Galar region is a very different sort of place than Paldea was, but it seems that it, too, is a land which Horizons‘ heroes have some personal connections to. Pokémon Horizons in its last two episodes has offered fans a chance to get to know its characters better, and hopefully that trend will continue, be it in Galar or beyond.
