Pokémon GO: TCG Crossover Challenge Timed Research Tasks (& Rewards)

In Pokémon GO, the TCG Crossover Challenge began on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. and runs until Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During this event, players will have the opportunity to complete timed Research Tasks to earn exclusive rewards. In addition, players will earn rewards from clearing Field Research Tasks as well as completing Collection Challenges, which will grant players an Elite Collectors Medal and a reward Pokémon encounter and XP.

For the limited-time Bulbasaur Collection Challenge, players will need to successfully catch Bulbasaur, Spinarak, Wimpod, Aipom, and TCG Hat Pikachu in Pokémon GO. All of these Pokémon can be found in the wild with increased spawn rates, and Wimpod and TCG Hat Pikachu can also be caught as rewards for Field Research Tasks. When players complete this challenge, they will earn 1,000 XP and an encounter with Venusaur. Similarly, the Charmander Collection Challenges require players to catch a Charmander, Numel, Magikarp, Alolan Rattata, and TCG Hat Pikachu. For their efforts, players will be rewarded with 1,000 XP and a Charizard encounter.

Finally, the Squirtle Collection Challenges require players to catch a Squirtle, Bidoof, Slowpoke, Eevee, and TCG Hat Pikachu. For successfully completing this challenge, players will earn 1,000 XP and a Blastoise encounter. Another event-exclusive collection challenge is the Kanto Collection Challenge. These challenges task players with catching Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise in Pokémon GO. Each of these Pokémon can be found in the wild or as a reward for completing a Field Research Task. For completing this task, players will earn 5,000 XP and an Incubator.

Players can unlock the TCG Crossover Challenge exclusive Field Research Tasks by spinning PokéStops during the event window. The Field Research Tasks include the challenge to catch 10 Pokémon, which grants a reward of 5 Pinap Berries or 3 Razz Berries. Players will also be tasked with catching 15 Pokémon, which rewards an encounter with either Ivysaur, Charmeleon, or Wartortle. The task of catching 25 Pokémon will grant players an encounter with either Venusaur, Charizard, or Blastoise. When players complete the task of catching 40 Pokémon, they will be rewarded with an encounter with either Snorlax, Dragonite, or Slaking in Pokémon GO. Additionally, players can earn 5 Poké Balls by completing the task to transfer 10 Pokémon. When players complete the task to spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms, they will earn a Wimpod encounter. Finally, the Field Research Task to trade a Pokémon will reward players with an encounter with TCG Hat Pikachu.

The TCG Crossover Challenge also includes the Trade Collection Challenge, which tasks players with receiving a Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle from a trade with another player. Once players receive the four required Pokémon via trade, they will be rewarded with 3,000 XP and a Lure Module. Similarly, players can also participate in the Advanced Collection Challenge. This challenge requires players to receive a Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise from trade and successfully catch a Snorlax, Slaking, and Dragonite in Pokémon GO. Players who complete this challenge will receive 10,000 XP and an encounter with Meltan.
