Pokémon GO Debuts Mega Lopunny & Flower Crown Chansey For Spring Event

Renowned mobile game Pokémon GO is beginning its seasonal Spring event in celebration of the warmer weather, debuting Mega Lopunny and Flower Crown Chansey. Flowers will be blooming and wild Pokémon will be coming out to enjoy the change of seasons this springtime.

Pokémon GO is an AR mobile app game that allows players to wander the real world in search of wild Pokémon to catch and train. Pokémon can be found all over the world, using AR technology to interact with players’ real-world location. These Pokémon can be used to fight in gym battles, challenge legendary Pokémon in raids, and follow the player around in a buddy system. The game has had enormous success over the years, with continued updates and events being added constantly.

From April 4 to April 8, Pokémon GO will be running its Spring event. This Easter-themed celebration is the first installment of the Season of Legends and will be honoring the egg and rabbit themed Pokémon of the series. Mega Lopunny will finally be joining the game; it can be found in raids all over the world for players to challenge and capture. Bonus hatch candy will also be available during the event; Lucky Eggs will boast an extra hour of use and egg hatching distance will be halved when placed in an Incubator during these special event days.

The spring event will be bringing back more bunny and egg Pokémon, in celebration of the upcoming Easter festivities. Pikachu, Exeggcute, Marill, Plusle, Minun, Buneary, and Bunnelby will be spawning more often in the wild, and a Pikachu wearing a flower crown can also be found. Lucky players may even be able to find a shiny Bunnelby, Diggersby, Chansy, or Buneary during this time. Evolutions of these four Pokémon lines are also more likely to be shiny in the wild.

Eggs found during this event will be hatching a new pool of Pokémon, including Eevee, Exeggcute, Pichu, Togepi, Azurill, Buneary, Happiny, Munchlax, Rufflet, and Bunnelby for 2 km eggs. Any Eevee, Pichu, or Happiny hatched from one of these eggs will be wearing a flower crown. Field event research rewards will feature encounters with Azumarill, Rufflet, and other Pokémon from the 2 km egg pool during the event.

The full raid schedule for this Spring event is still unknown at this point. More information will probably be released closer to the date itself. Hopefully, the smorgasbord of new content being added for the Season of Legends event is setting an example of how these new seasonal events will be handled going forward. Events such as these are great for filling in those holes in players’ Pokédex and hunting down shinies.

Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
