In DC Comics lore, Pamela Isley was originally a botanical biochemistry student before transforming into a villain. However, after her devotion to her studies led her to work closely with her professor Dr. Jason Woodrue, her teacher would inject her with deadly toxins that led to her transformation into Poison Ivy. As a result, Isley has continually been forced to confront her dark past and Woodrue, who would become the monstrous Floronic Man. However, Poison Ivy just got sweet revenge on her version of the Joker.

In Poison Ivy #6 by G. Willow Wilson, Marcio Takara, Brian Level, Arif Prianto, Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, and Jay Leisten from DC Comics, the titular villain faces off against the Floronic Man, as Dr. Jason Woodrue’s dark avatar of the Green tries to kill Poison Ivy for stealing the deadly spores she used to try to destroy humanity that he intended on using himself. The Floronic Man threatens to slit Poison Ivy’s throat, dissect her, and sell her body to the highest bidder – telling her the planet is “too far gone” to save. However, when Woodrue threatens to kill Harley Quinn, Ivy uses newfound rage to grow her powers like never before, which she uses to get revenge on her Joker once and for all.

Poison Ivy’s Mission To Destroy Humanity Takes A New Direction

Poison Ivy Finally Gets The Ultimate Revenge On Her Joker

In a brutally dark revenge scene, Poison Ivy eats Woodrue’s body to ensure that he never returns. Meanwhile, Ivy’s mission to destroy humanity changes, as once she clears the deadly toxins from her body, she focuses her attention on individual actors and corporations causing the slow decay of the Earth, instead of humanity as a whole.

Much like the Joker negatively impacted and controlled Harley Quinn’s life, the Floronic Man was the person directly responsible for changing and transforming Poison Ivy with his abusive actions. So seeing Ivy finally get revenge on her former teacher is incredibly satisfying, as Pamela taking him down and eating his body represents an appropriately dark ending for the longtime villain. Poison Ivy #6 by DC Comics is in comic book stores now.
