The Big in Japan sale is now live on the PlayStation Store and it has reduced the price on over 500 games, including titles like Code Vein, Kingdom Hearts III, and Nier: Automata. PlayStation is the best-selling home console brand of all time, which means that developers from all around the world (that aren’t owned by Nintendo or Microsoft) have been lining up to get their games on the PlayStation 4.
Sony has the support of many third-party developers, which has resulted in some of the PlayStation 4’s biggest exclusives, like Bloodborne from FromSoftware and Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac Games – the latter of which resulted in Sony buying Insomniac Games in 2019. As a Japanese company, Sony has had the support of many developers in its home country, to the point where the system has far more titles from its homeland than the Xbox One.
Sony is launching the Big in Japan sale on the PlayStation Store today, which has lowered the price on over 500 games from Japan. According to the PlayStation blog, there are some big reductions in the sale, including Code Vein for $35.99, Dark Souls III for $14.99, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for $11.99, Judgment for $29.99, Just Cause 3 for $4.99, Kingdom Hearts III for $17.99, Nier: Automata Game of the Yorha Edition for $19.99, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard for $14.99, Street Fighter V for $7.99, and Tekken 7 for $14.99.
The sale includes games like 428: Shibuya Scramble for $9.99, which is notable for receiving a perfect score in Famitsu and taking ten years to be localized. There is a lot of DLC on sale, including for games like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dynasty Warriors 9, Final Fantasy XV, Gal*Gun 2, and Street Fighter V. The Big in Japan sale also includes a number of PlayStation 3 games, for those who still own the console. The sale is now live on both the US and UK versions of the PlayStation Store.
The PlayStation 4 is coming to the end of its lifespan, as the PlayStation 5 is due to be released during the 2020 holiday season. The system has a few killer exclusives lined up in the meantime, including games like Nioh 2 and The Last of Us Part II, so there is still some life in the PlayStation 4 for a little while longer. The people who are late to purchasing the console will find an abundance of great titles in the Big in Japan sale.
