Peter Pan & Wendy: 7 Actors Who Should Join Jude Law (& Who They Should Play)

Peter Pan & Wendy: 7 Actors Who Should Join Jude Law (& Who They Should Play)

Peter Pan & Wendy is going to be one of the latest live-action movies in Disney’s latest run, turning another animated classic into a live-action movie. Disney has done this frequently in recent years with the likes of Beauty and the Beast and Dumbo having gained the live-action treatment.

During the recent Investors Call, it was revealed that Jude Law would be joining the cast to take on the role of Captain Hook. Meanwhile, Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson are set for the roles of Peter Pan and Wendy Darling, while Yara Shahidi has been cast as Tinker Bell. Finally, Alyssa Wapanatâhk is set to play Tiger Lilly, but there are still plenty of roles within this classic story that needs to be fulfilled.

Lost Boy – Elias Harger

Peter Pan & Wendy: 7 Actors Who Should Join Jude Law (& Who They Should Play)

There’s obviously going to be a lot of Lost Boys within this movie, as they’re Peter Pan’s group of friends, and Elias Harger of Fuller House would be a great option as one of them. He is a talented young actor on the rise, and the casting of this movie so far, with the younger characters, has been all about bringing in talented actors who are ready to make the rise.

Elias Harger certainly ticks that box, and he is someone who would work brilliantly as a Lost Boy, which is a character that is typically full of energy and excitement.

Chief Of The Indians – Danny Trejo

Danny Trejo - Indian Chief

While Danny Trejo is typically involved in far more adult movies than a Disney movie, that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t fit into this role. The Chief is only a supporting role within the traditional Peter Pan movie, but he is someone that can be quite scary at times.

Danny Trejo would certainly be able to portray that leader and protective father of Tiger Lilly really well, and he would suit the part perfectly. It would certainly be an interesting casting that would get people talking, but it would be a perfect casting at the same time.

George Darling – James McAvoy

James McAvoy - George Darling

While there is a good chance that Jude Law could end up slotting into this role, with George Darling often being presented as the same actor who plays Captain Hook due to the similarities the characters have. However, that doesn’t have to be the case. But because Wendy has been cast as a young actress, the parent’s ages have to reflect that too.

Having younger parents is something that will go along with the tone that the movie is pushing from its initial casting. George is a tricky character as he showcases both great kindness, but also someone who can snap and be quite angry as well. Throughout James McCavoy’s career, he has shown that he’s able to do both sides, which would make him a sensible casting.

Mary Darling – Natalie Dormer

Natalie Dormer - Mary Darling

Much like George Darling, the casting of Mary Darling has to be as someone who can be taken seriously as a mother but isn’t too old either. Natalie Dormer certainly ticks that box, and as a fast-rising actress, she would be a brilliant casting for this role.

Mary is typically a very kind and caring character and that is something that Natalie is very capable of delivering. During her role in Game Of Thrones as Margaery Tyrell, Natalie showcased a kindness that would be fitting of Mary Darling. Plus, aesthetically, she would certainly link well with Ever Anderson, who will be playing Mary’s daughter, Wendy.

Michael Darling – Billy Jenkins

Billy Jenkins - Michael Darling

Billy Jenkins is a really impressive young actor who is quickly making a name for himself within Hollywood. He’s only starting out in his career, but he has taken on major roles within The Crown and Holmes & Watson and would be a perfect fit for Michael Darling.

While he is a little older than the character is presented in Disney’s classic animation, he is quite a small actor which would allow Disney to make him fit into this role. The character is incredibly fun and is ready for an adventure, and Billy would work well within this role.

John Darling – Callum Booth-Ford

John Darling Live Action

Callum Booth-Ford is someone who people should certainly be keeping an eye on, as he is a very talented young actor. So far, Disney has cast young actors who haven’t fully broken out yet in the main roles, and Callum Booth-Ford would continue to fit the bill in that regard.

He wowed audiences with his performance in the series Butterfly, and he is at the right age to take on the role of John Darling. John is a confident character who tries to lead as much as possible, all while still being quite childlike at heart.

Mr. Smee – Nick Frost

Nick Frost - Smee

While Mr. Smee is technically a villain, he is also one of the more comedic characters within Peter Pan, often being showcased as a kind person who isn’t always interested in following on with what Captain Hook does. Because the role demands being quite funny and likeable, Nick Frost would be an ideal choice to be cast.

He has taken on a loveable sidekick role several times throughout his career in movies such as Hot Fuzz and Paul and would be a good fit as Mr. Smee as well. With Jude Law being Captain Hook, it also makes sense to cast another English actor, to keep continuity on the ship.
