Percy Jackson’s Season 1 Finale Subtly Teases Luke’s New Replacement At Camp Half-Blood

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians‘ season 1 finale features a subtle tease toward Luke Castellan’s Camp Half-Blood replacement. Undoubtedly one of the biggest mysteries throughout Percy Jackson season 1 was which friend would betray Percy as per the Oracle’s prophecy. By the time of Percy Jackson season 1’s ending, it became clear that Luke Castellan was the traitor when he revealed his loyalty to Kronos.

What happened to Luke after he fled Camp Half-Blood is one of Percy Jackson season 1’s biggest unanswered questions, as is what will happen at the camp now that one of its senior counselors has betrayed the Olympians. These questions will undoubtedly be a major focus in the story of Percy Jackson season 2, though some hints may already have been provided. One such hint was found in the Percy Jackson season 1 finale by setting up the replacement of Luke Castellan as the head counselor of the Hermes cabin at Camp Half-Blood.

Percy Jackson Season 1’s Ending Teases The Stoll Brothers, Luke’s Hermes Cabin Replacements

In the Percy Jackson season 1 finale, the titular character returns to Camp Half-Blood after returning the Master Bolt to Zeus. As he walks through the camp, the other demigods applaud him as a hero besides Clarisse whose relationship with Percy is still notably strained. As the camera pans through the children applauding Percy, two identical twins are shown which could be the Stoll brothers of the Hermes cabin.

In the Percy Jackson books, the Stoll brothers are a duo known for their pranks and mischief due to their nature as Hermes’ children. After Luke’s betrayal, they become the joint head counselors of the Hermes cabin which gives them a much more active role in future stories. With Luke’s betrayal coming shortly after the twins are shown in Percy Jackson‘s season 1 finale, the show could be providing a subtle hint at who will replace the son of Hermes going forward.

Percy Jackson’s Demigod Teases Will Only Get Bigger In Future Seasons

The potential tease of the Stoll brothers found in Percy Jackson season 1 seemingly follows the trend of the original books. In the first book, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, few demigods are focused on outside of Percy, Annabeth, Luke, and Clarisse as is the case in Percy Jackson season 1. However, the future books in the series introduce more members of Camp Half-Blood as they grow in importance concerning the overall story of the fight against Kronos.

The Stolls are two of these characters as the brothers are not featured in the series until the second book. Based on the story of Percy Jackson season 1, it seems the show will follow suit with this. The tease at the end of the show, as well as the season’s tendency to focus on the same characters as the book, hints that more demigods will become integral to the story as more seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians are crafted.
