PAW Patrol 3 is being developed by Nickelodeon and Paramount after Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Rubble, and Zuma’s second theatrical outing proved to be another hit. Starting life as a Nick Jr. show in 2013, PAW Patrol has since grown into a global megahit for Nickelodeon. The first PAW Patrol movie arrived in theaters in 2021, with superhero-themed sequel PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie following in 2023. Now the third installment of the movie adventures of the PAW Patrol is on a roll.
The next PAW Patrol movie has already been confirmed, despite The Mighty Movie only nowhere near finishing its theatrical run. PAW Patrol 3 will follow the movie continuity of the PAW Patrol, which has its own voice cast, slightly deeper plot than the Nick Jr. show, and new characters such as the poodle Delores (played in the PAW Patrol movie cast by Kim Kardashian). While story details are still under wraps it’s a given that PAW Patrol 3 will be another big-budget box-office spectacle that younger viewers will be eager to see.

The first solid news on PAW Patrol movie came in September 2023. It’s been confirmed that Nickelodeon, Paramount, and Spin Master Entertainment are moving ahead with PAW Patrol 3. The news came a few days before the premiere of PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, which is projected to net up to $20 million on its opening weekend (via Variety). There was little revealed about the follow-up beyond Cal Brunker returning as director.
PAW Patrol 3 Is Confirmed
PAW Patrol 3 is confirmed and already in development. Paramount, Nickelodeon, and Spin Master Entertainment greenlit the third movie in the PAW Patrol cinematic trilogy in September 2023, with the announcement of a third PAW Patrol film made before the second installment had debuted. The confidence in the franchise is unsurprising, however, since PAW Patrol as an intellectual property is estimated to have earned a staggering $8 billion in retail sales alone since 2014 (via Paramount).
PAW Patrol 3 Release Date
The PAW Patrol 3 release date has been set for a 2026 window (via Variety). A specific calendar date has yet to be announced though. It’s expected that PAW Patrol 3 will have a theatrical release before eventually arriving on Paramount+, although shared distribution with other streaming platforms is always a possibility.
PAW Patrol 3 Cast
The cast of PAW Patrol 3 has yet to be determined. There’s also no guarantee that the cast of PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie will return to reprise their roles, since many were themselves replacements of recast members of the PAW Patrol: The Movie lineup.
It’s likely that Kim Kardashian will reprise her role as the poodle Delores in PAW Patrol 3, especially after her part in the American Horror Story season 12 cast was received incredibly well and has added some credibility to her transition from reality TV star to actor. Liberty, the dachshund who gained stretching powers in The Mighty Movie will likely once again be played by Marsai Martin.
As for the rest of the PAW Patrol, if they’re not recast then Mckenna Grace would return as Skye, Christian Convery as Chase, Luxton Handspiker as Rubble, Christian Corrao as Marshall, Callum Shoniker as Rocky, and Nylan Pathipan as Zuma. Finn Lee-Epp would also possibly return as Ryder for the PAW Patrol 3 cast. However, it should be noted that — except for Callum Shoniker — all the pups of the PAW Patrol were recast between the first and second movie. The same could follow for PAW Patrol 3.
The titular pups weren’t the only cast members in the PAW Patrol movies, however. The second movie saw Chris Rock, Kristen Bell, James Marsden, and Taraji P. Henson all join the cast. Whether they’d return for PAW Patrol 3, or if any other new cast members will join the franchise, has yet to be announced.
PAW Patrol 3 Story
The story of PAW Patrol 3 has yet to be revealed. However, director Cal Brunker has plenty of source material to draw from for inspiration both from the show and spinoffs such as Rubble & Crew. The second movie saw the pups of the movie PAW Patrol universe gain superpowers like the Mighty Pups run of the TV show. This could continue in PAW Patrol 3, or the sequel could opt to have the PAW Patrol lose their powers for a more grounded story.
There have been no hints about PAW Patrol 3 plot specifics yet. The movie universe has yet to introduce some of the recurring characters of the show like Everest the mountain rescue husky or jeep-driving chihuaha jungle-expert Tracker. It’s possible they could debut as part of the PAW Patrol 3 story.
