Patrick J. Adams Movies & TV Shows: Where You Know The Suits Star

Here’s a quick guide to Suits star Patrick J. Adams’ movie and TV shows. Canadian actor Patrick J. Adams made his feature film debut as fraternity pledge Patch in the 2003 comedy Old School which starred Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson. His TV career began with a series of one-off roles in shows including Cold Case, Strong Medicine and Numbers and he later nabbed leading parts in TV movies Christmas In Boston and Orpheus.

Throughout the mid to late-noughties, Adams added more one-off roles to his résumé with stints on shows like Without A Trace, Lost and Ghost Whisperer. He also landed parts in the short-lived political drama Commander In Chief, sports drama Friday Night Lights and finished the decade with roles in a handful of films – comedy Weather Girl, indie drama The Waterhole and experimental murder mystery Rage included.

Patrick J. Adams started the 2010s appearing in the season finale of the short-lived but popular sci-fi drama Flashforward and played Hardy – an old college friend of Ezra’s (Ian Harding) – on teen mystery drama Pretty Little Liars, which co-starred his then-future wife Troian Bellisario. His big breakthrough, however, came when he was cast as college dropout-turned-associate attorney Mike Ross on the legal drama Suits in 2011. Adams played Mike for the first seven seasons of Suits, returning as a guest star in its ninth and final season, and earned a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for his performance.

Playing Mike Ross on Suits opened up doors to plenty of new acting opportunities for Patrick J. Adams. He played whiz kid Nathan Israel on HBO horse racing drama Luck and took on the role of Guy Woodhouse in an NBC miniseries adaptation of Ira Levin’s classic horror novel Rosemary’s Baby. He nabbed small roles in Orphan Black and Legends Of Tomorrow – playing Helena’s (Tatiana Maslany) boyfriend Jesse and Rex Tyler AKA Hourman, respectively – and had a lead role as Ryan in the comedy series Pillow Talk. He also got a few more film roles under his belt with parts in the comedies Car Dogs and Room For Rent.

Since his time on Suits came to an end, Patrick J. Adams hasn’t slowed down much. He starred alongside his wife in the 2018 sci-fi film Clara and joined the cast of crime drama Sneaky Pete in its third and final season playing business magnate Stefan Kilbane. Next up, he’ll play NASA astronaut John Glenn – the first American to orbit Earth – in the upcoming Disney+ drama The Right Stuff which is set to premiere its first episode in early October.
