The first part of Ozark‘s fourth and final season has had plenty of incredible moments. There were some shocking deaths as well as some exciting character additions. Fans will definitely be looking forward to seeing how the Netflix series will wrap up events in the second part and there are several possibilities.
Some of the predictions for the second part can be found on Reddit, where several of the show’s fans are confident they’ve figured out how events will unfold. While some predictions are way off, others seem quite accurate. Sadly, since the second part doesn’t have a release date yet, fans simply have to wait a little longer to see if things turn out that way.
Ben Is Revealed To Be Alive
When Wendy’s brother Ben informs Erin that her mother Helen is a criminal, Wendy allows the cartel lawyer to have him whacked. However, Dapper-Bluebird2927 claims Ben might still be alive, adding, “Perhaps Marty made a deal with Omar.”
Since Marty is close to Navarro cartel leader Omar Navarro, it is indeed possible that he could have made a deal to spare Ben’s life. After all, Omar didn’t like Helen anyway so he might not have been too keen on allowing his favorite hitman to carry out a hit for the lawyer. Ben’s dead body is never shown either yet in the rest of the heartbreaking Ozark deaths, bodies are shown.
Either Marty Or Wendy Will Be Killed
Things are getting more complex the Byrdes. There are many ways the story could end for them and GlisteningGlorificus predicts that “Marty or Wendy will die, possibly both. Maybe one will die and the other will go to prison.”
In a lot of good TV dramas, the main character tends to die at the end so this is a huge possibility. It will be a seen-it-before moment when either Marty or Wendy gets sent to the maker. Moreover, it was already hinted that a fatal car accident will happen. Or perhaps a death might not occur but one of them will surely pay for their crimes in one way or the other.
Mel Sattem Will Cause The Downfall of The Byrdes
Mel Sattem is introduced in the first part of Season 4 as a private investigator looking into Helen’s death. Given how much he has been monitoring the Byrdes, DemoHD7 feels he has a bigger mission, stating, “I do believe he’ll serve as a character to try to expose the Byrdes.”
Mel has been afforded plenty of screentime so far, which means he’ll have an even bigger part to play when the series returns. He might indeed ruin everything the Byrdes are trying to do and this might either get him killed or leave him as the last hero standing on the show. The former is more likely since he has been portrayed as a nuisance so far.
Jonah Shoots Someone
Jonah has been depicted as a very angry character in Season 4. About the character, Redditor JoshK87 says “Jonah had impeccable shooting skills previewed in earlier seasons. I think that’s going to play a factor.”
Throughout the series, Jonah has been shown sharpening his shooting skills but he has never really put them to use. He almost shot Helen but that’s as close as it got. Since he’s still angry over Ben’s death, it’s highly likely that he might shoot a member of the cartel as revenge for Ben’s death. Another possibility would be Ruth getting harmed then Jonah getting revenge for her. Or yet another possibility would be killing someone in self-defense.
The Accident Is A Hit
At the start of Season 4, there is a flash-forward scene where the Byrde family gets involved in a car accident. FEAR_LORD_DUCK says “I’m going to make my prediction that this was a hit sent out by either Javi or Navarro for escaping the Ozarks.”
Navarro seems unlikely to harm the Byrdes at this point since he is deep in bed with them but Javi considers them his least favorite people hence he’ll have no problem trying to eliminate them. After all, Marty already double-crossed him by recording him as he confessed to the FBI bombings. This is something that will surely irk him if he finds out.
Javi Dies
Omar’s nephew Javi has been a loose cannon ever since he was introduced. Redditor futgcch predicts “Javi is killed. Probably by Shaw’s military man.”
This is the most likely thing to happen because Javi is not only hated by Byrdes but also by Omar and Shaw. The CEO of Shaw Medical seems like the perfect corporate villain hence she’ll likely figure out a way to take him out. Omar might easily do so too since he has all the resources needed. An angry Ruth has the desire too, therefore, she shouldn’t be excluded amount the list of potential killers.
Ruth Leaves Town
Redditor Melkezidech believes Ruth will get some sort of revenge. They add, “She will then leave town in some kind of Aaron Paul in Breaking Bad manner.”
Ruth being the only survivor wouldn’t be such a bad thing since she sits top among the most likable Ozark characters. Additionally, Ozark has been compared to Breaking Bad a lot so it wouldn’t be surprising if the endings turn out to be quite similar. And since all of Ruth’s family members are now dead, she will have no reason to stay in the Ozarks any longer.
Marty And Wendy Get Divorced
Marty and Wendy have had marital problems ever since the show started. They tried to solve them by visiting the therapist Sue Shelby but she ended up blackmailing them in what is one of the biggest Ozark twists. Now, 15_CROSS_4 predicts “Marty and Wendy will get a divorce.”
The cartel deal has been the only thing keeping Marty and Wendy together and when that is over, they will have no reason to stay married. If one of them doesn’t die, it won’t be such a shocker if they agree to a divorce. After all, the kids don’t like them together anyway so it’ll be a win for everyone.
Ruth Gets Into A Relationship With Frank Jr.
The relationship between Ruth and Frank Jr. has greatly improved in Season 4. Given how much they are warming up to each other, EdgyQuant has a strong prediction. “I think she might end up with Frank, Jr,” they say.
Frank has been much nicer ever since Darlene shot him. So nice that he didn’t bother getting revenge for his father’s death, simply because Ruth asked him not to. Ruth is also attracted to damaged men and Frank is right in that alley. Perhaps the two will help each other get rid of Javi before riding into the sunset together. Or maybe Ruth becomes the First Lady of the KC mob.
Jonah Emancipates Himself
No one has been more unhappy than Jonah lately. Redditor tigetwon180’s prediction is that “Jonah emancipates himself from the family like his sister tried to do.”
Unless it’s revealed that Ben is still alive, it’s highly unlikely that Jonah will ever forgive his mother for the death of his favorite uncle. Moreover, Jonah is one of the best Ozark characters, because he is a very mature and intelligent teenager. He not only knows how to make money but also how to stand up for himself. He’ll, therefore, do just fine if he decides to go his own way.
