Overcooked: All You Can Eat Serves Up Next-Gen Remasters Of Both Games

Insane kitchen simulators Overcooked and Overcooked 2 are being treated with a next-gen remaster, titled Overcooked: All You Can Eat. The bundle will maximize the franchise’s signature cooking mayhem, which is responsible for both unbreakable bonds between players and ruined friendships.

The Overcooked franchise is an excellent example of having fun through constant pain and suffering. The games are focused around prepping simple meals according to customers’ orders in time, but with each stage, objectives become increasingly more complicated because of a hazardous environment. Players can be tasked with cooking food in a moving truck, on board a ship, inside a volcano, or even in space, with all of the arenas constantly moving and changing their layouts. Even such a simple objective as bringing an onion to the cutting board has the potential to become a hardcore quest threatening the very mission’s completion. While both games include singleplayer, the true potential has always been in co-op sessions with friends turning Overcooked into an uncontrollable rollercoaster of emotions.

As if having two excellent titles wasn’t enough, Team17 has officially revealed Overcooked: All You Can Eat bundle via an announcement trailer. This collection contains remastered versions of both games in 4K with all of the additional content serving as an icing on a cake. The overall visual quality seems to be increased with fancy new animations and effects showing off in the trailer, and the entirety of the first game has been remade in the sequel’s engine. The video promises more than 200 kitchen arenas, 120+ playable characters, and the Assist mode. That’s a helluva lot to play around as is, but the collection will also introduce some brand new content as an appetizing treat for seasoned players. The most exciting innovation though is the addition of online co-op support to the original Overcooked game, which initially offered only local multiplayer. Finally, there will also be cross-platform multiplayer support.

Overcooked is an ultimate co-op experience to test long-lasting friendships and relationships. With its intentionally punishing yet deeply satisfying gameplay, the game (and its sequel) has attracted a huge audience of loyal fans. In fact, Overcooked’s popularity and influence are responsible for several lookalikes and clones like Cannibal Cuisine among others. Still, there’s nothing better than the original game, and players will soon have a chance to taste the complete kitchen experience with the upcoming Overcooked All You Can Eat bundle, which is set to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox One X sometime after the consoles’ premieres.

Being one of the best co-op couch experiences, Overcooked definitely deserves a quality treatment with a 4K remaster for everyone to enjoy its bizarre gameplay in full glory. The next logical step would be to announce Overcooked 3 for the upcoming generation of consoles. Hopefully, the devs will consider the possibility of making another game basing their decision on the reception of Overcooked: All You Can Eat, which will probably be met with passionate enthusiasm.

Overcooked: All You Can Eat is coming soon to PS5 and Xbox Series X.
