Oppenheimer wins big in Google’s 2023 data, with the film inspiring some trending search queries. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the biographical drama chronicles the life and career of American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man responsible for the creation of the atomic bomb. The film, which is based on American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, was a big hit with both audiences and critics upon its release this past summer.
Now, per a new report shared by Google, Oppenheimer is revealed to be a sneaky winner in terms of 2023 search data. The film occupies several spaces in Google’s top trending searches for the year, including in expected categories like movies, cast, and drama/ thriller movies. Interestingly, however, the film also made it onto Google’s top trending “What is…” queries list, with “What is Oppenheimer about?” occupying a top spot. In the “Why…” category of searches, “Why is Oppenheimer rated R?” is also a top trending query.
