Fans experienced all of her pain and heartbreak right along with her as she and Lucas Scott had an on-again and off-again relationship, and as they got caught up in a love triangle with her BFF Brooke Davis.

Fans gasped when Lucas picked Peyton over Brooke. However, the show was changed forever after Lucas ended up in the hospital in the season 1 episode ‘Suddenly Everything Has Changed.’ Here, Brooke learned that Peyton and Lucas had betrayed her and she ended up calling time on their friendship. She Fell For Jake And A Super Complicated Relationship
In season 2, Peyton’s love life changed as she met Jake, a single father and a fellow Tree Hill classmate. It seemed like this could be her shot at love, and fans wondered if he was her soulmate instead of Lucas. Unfortunately, this didn’t work out, as Jake’s ex wanted custody of their daughter.

The third season of One Tree Hill was the most heartbreaking for Peyton. She not only discovered her birth mother, Ellie, had sadly passed away after they had briefly reconnected but Peyton also almost died in the school shooting.
Fans always rooted for Peyton, wanting her to be happy, and it seemed like when she got the chance to be content, something bad happened in her life. Peyton certainly had a huge emotional journey in this season.
She Dove Deeper Into Her Family Life And Met Her Brother
Peyton changed even more in the fourth season, and she met who she assumed was her brother, Derek. She Tried (And Failed) To Be Successful In The L.A. Music Industry
Reeling from the events of the past few years, from realizing that she didn’t have much family love and support to feeling heartbroken about Lucas, Peyton tried to work in Los Angeles.
When it didn’t work out and Peyton moved back to her hometown, fans realized that she wasn’t happy and was at the crossroads in her life. She felt hopeless in terms of her career and love life, and she wondered how she could pick up the pieces.
She Figured Out How To Make Her Friendship With Brooke Work
In the fifth season of the show, Peyton and Brooke were back home in Tree Hill, and they put all the bad blood behind them. It seemed like they were finally going to repair their friendship.
While they had hurt each other and it was too bad that they fought over Lucas, Brooke seemed to accept that Peyton and Lucas loved each other and had a much stronger and more genuine connection. Viewers had become invested in this friendship and were glad to see the characters supporting each other once again.
Lucas And Peyton Finally Got Back Together
In season 6, fans were thrilled to see Lucas and Peyton in a serious relationship once again. While Peyton had several love interests on One Tree Hill, she was always going to end up with Lucas.
Fans saw a changed Peyton at this point in the series. She had almost lost Lucas several times, including when he almost married Lindsey, and she knew that she couldn’t let him go this time. Viewers saw this popular couple get married, a day that was so special because they were also expecting a baby. It felt like the right time for them to tie the knot, as they had both grown and matured and learned a lot in their time apart.
Peyton Got Ready For Motherhood
Also in the sixth season of One Tree Hill, Peyton and Lucas shared the good news that they were pregnant.
This was another turning point for Peyton, as she said goodbye to her younger self and got ready to become a parent. Fans saw her truly growing up during this storyline as she and Lucas thought seriously about the future and whether they would stay in Tree Hill. Peyton always wanted a family and now she would create that with Lucas.
Peyton’s Pregnancy Became Scary
After Peyton was diagnosed with placenta previa, a condition that she was terrified to have, fans watched her become afraid for her unborn baby and the life that she and Lucas were planning for.
This was another time when Peyton underwent an emotional transformation as she and Lucas were seen to have many heart-to-hearts and discussions about their future. Although it did prove to be a complicated pregnancy, fans were relieved when Peyton gave birth to their baby girl, Sawyer, and she finally woke up from her coma.
She Said Goodbye To Tree Hill And Finally Had A Family
In the season 6 episode ‘Remember Me As A Time Of Day,’ Peyton, Lucas, and Sawyer left Tree Hill. The plan was to enjoy being together and also to travel.
Peyton’s transformation was complete at this point in the series, as she changed from a troubled teenager who hated the world to a young woman who had everything she had ever dreamed of. Fans loved seeing Lucas, Peyton, and Sawyer together, and they were happier than ever before.
