One-Punch Man Finally Reveals The Huge Consequences Of Saitama And Garou’s Battle

Warning: Spoilers for the redrawn version of chapter #195 (JP) of One-Punch ManOne-Punch Man‘s most epic and spectacular battle was the planet-shattering clash between Saitama and Garou. The manga has now revealed that the fight that almost destroyed Earth had one major, unknown consequence, as it powered up the series’ next big villain: Empty Void.

Yusuke Murata’s long-running manga adaptation of ONE’s original story recently got a few redrawn chapters that completely reshape the current Ninja Arc. It turns out that Saitama’s Monster Association Arc climax had a deadly ripple effect hidden among its consequences.

One-Punch Man Finally Reveals The Huge Consequences Of Saitama And Garou’s Battle

Saitama had previously coasted by without arousing suspicion about his intense power in One-Punch Man, but his obscurity has since vanished. His cosmic-scale fight with the Hero Hunter killed all the Heroes and many innocent people, forcing Garou and Saitama to reverse time. It turns out, however, that the fight between the strongest had another unintended, and more dangerous, consequence.

Saitama’s Fight Against Garou Inadvertedly Supercharged a New Villain

One-Punch Man Keeps Creating New Cosmic Threats

Saitama and Garou in One-Punch Man

Blast reveals the effects of Saitama’s fight against Garou in One-Punch Man, where Caped Baldy’s haymaker hits Garou so hard that it releases a burst of cosmic energy absorbed by Empty Void. The revelation appears in the redrawn Chapter 195 (or Chapter 242 of Tonari’s numbering), with Blast recalling having tried to send the radiation away from Earth to another dimension. However, in doing so, he sent it to where a drastically weakened Void hid and where he consumed the power to become a God-level threat.

The magnitude of this error is straightforward and could be catastrophic, as Void already demonstrates dimension-altering attacks in the same chapter. Given he has a bone to pick with Blast and his mysterious connection to a village of ninjas, including Flashy Flash and Speed-o’-Sonic, this enemy could be a more calculating, tactical foe than Garou. However, he’s not the only God-level threat potentially roaming in One-Punch Man.

Empty Void’s Powers Alter Reality in One-Punch Man

God-Level Monsters and Former Heroes Are Increasingly Unfathomable

Combined with his pre-existing abilities to alter the fabric of reality, Void has yet-untold limits to his powers after communing with the mysterious “God” in One-Punch Man. He is a powerful ninja, capable of illusions and dangerous offensive abilities altered by God. While he was left in a weakened state after fighting Blast, who feared the worst from God’s influence, he ultimately recovered thanks to the cosmic radiation released from Garou after Saitama beat him in One-Punch Man.

Empty Void’s powers, however, are not fully gauged after this recovery. He can hide in pocket dimensions, absorb energy, tear reality apart instantly, and gain a regenerative healing factor from cosmic radiation. Empty Void is also a more experienced and deadly threat than Garou, self-actualized in his villainy with a potential small army of ninjas he can infect with God’s power. It’s great that the story has returned to one of its most significant moments to show its long-term consequences, proving that One-Punch Man still has a lot to give to its fans.
