One Piece Confirms The Big Weakness Of Its Most Powerful Villains

Warning: Spoilers for One Piece chapter #1084The Five Elders reign over the world of One Piece, following the orders of the mysterious Imu, but there is one secret that scares them so much that they’re willing to kill even a King to keep it hidden. The latest arc of Eiichiro Oda’s epic adventure manga has put Luffy and the Straw Hats in the backseat while focusing on other epic battles and shocking revelations from the Reverie Arc, including the true fate of King Cobra of Alabasta.

Several chapters ago, Luffy’s brother Sabo has been accused of murdering King Cobra, but chapter #1084 of One Piece has begun to reveal what really happened, showing Vivi’s father requesting an audience with the Five Elders. During their conversation in front of the Empty Throne, Cobra asks about the mysterious disappearance of his ancestor, Nefertari Lily (who could actually be Imu), during the creation of the World Government 800 years into the past. After failing to get a straight answer from the Five Elders, the King asks the question that likely got him killed: “What is the D?

King Cobra Shakes The Five Elders With One Question

One Piece Confirms The Big Weakness Of Its Most Powerful Villains

Many characters throughout the One Piece world have had a D. as their middle name, and almost all of them have caused a lot of trouble for the World Government’s status quo. It’s been a complete mystery what the D. stands for and how those with it in their name came to have it – but it’s known that “the D. clan” is supposed to be the natural enemy of the rulers of the world, the Celestial Dragons. With Monkey D. Luffy saving his daughter and his life, as well as the entire Alabasta kingdom, Cobra’s curiosity caused him to research his kingdom’s ancient records, which ultimately brought him in front of the Five Elders.

Imu’s Appearance Sealed Cobra’s Fate

Imu appears in front of King Cobra in One Piece

King Cobra’s line of questions regarding Lily had the Elders on edge. Still, it wasn’t until he asked about the secret of D. that they genuinely lost their composure. It was this subject that made Imu appear in the room, revealing his existence to Cobra and sitting on the Empty Throne, which is supposed to stay empty as a symbol of the Celestial Dragons’ equality. The Five Elders are apparently the only people to know of and communicate with Imu, meaning that Cobra’s questions regarding Lily and the meaning of D. struck a chord with the world’s most powerful figures.

More importantly, Cobra asks about the meaning of D. after mentioning a mysterious letter that his ancestor Lily left behind before disappearing from history, teasing a connection between the two. Hopefully, more of the conversation between Cobra, Imu, and the Five Elders will be shown in the following One Piece chapters because, if the meaning of D. will truly be revealed, this is a moment readers have waited years to witness.
