One Of Nicolas Cage’s Highest-Rated 2023 Movies Is Now Available On VOD

Nicolas Cage’s acclaimed 2023 movie Dream Scenario is now available to watch on VOD. Written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, it follows Paul Matthews, an ordinary middle-aged man whose regular life takes a turn when he mysteriously begins to appear in people’s dreams. Dream Scenario also stars Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, and Tim Meadows, and it was well received upon its limited theatrical release in November. It holds a 91% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it Cage’s best-reviewed movie of the year.

Now, according to JoBlo, following Dream Scenario’s initial release in theaters, the surreal black comedy is now available for rent or purchase on VOD platforms such as Amazon, YouTube, Google Play, and Vudu. It costs the usual $19.99 to rent the movie, and $24.99 to purchase it outright.

How Did Dream Scenario Stack Up Compared To Cage’s Other 2023 Movies?

Cage released five movies in 2023, not including his uncredited cameo as Superman in The Flash. Of those five titles, three of them were deemed Rotten on Rotten Tomatoes, and the fourth, The Retirement Plan, only barely cleared the threshold with a 60%. The Dream Scenario reviews, however, suggest Cage is not the only good thing about the movie. Critics also praised the other cast members’ performances, Borgli’s direction, the screenplay, and most especially, the themes that were explored. The original premise also stands out among the many franchises taking up the bulk of theaters. As Dream Scenario had a limited release, its arrival on VOD now can ensure it reaches a wider audience.

While Dream Scenario mostly received glowing reviews, and has already bagged notable award recognition like a Golden Globe nomination for Cage, not every critic was entirely satisfied with the movie, hence why it didn’t achieve a score higher than 91%. However, compared to Cage’s other 2023 offerings, it appears to be the best. Now, with Dream Scenario now available on streaming, viewers can decide for themselves where it ranks within his filmography.
