Omni-Man’s Books In Invincible Season 2: All Viltrumite Clues Explained

Invincible season 2, episode 6 has finally reintroduced Omni-Man’s books, and here are all the clues that Nolan Grayson’s novels contain, explained. Invincible has been slowly setting up the epic Viltrumite War story arc, with Allen the Alien, Thaedus, and the Coalition of Planets preparing to wage war against the Viltrum Empire. Although they have struggled to take on the nearly-invincible alien race so far, the tides are turning in their favor. Mark Grayson has finally started to discover some of the weaknesses of Viltrumites in Invincible season 2, and it is all thanks to Omni-Man’s sci-fi books.

Invincible season 2, part 2 is finally here, with the highly anticipated continuation of Amazon Prime Video’s critically acclaimed animated adaptation of the superhero comic of the same name now releasing. Invincible season 2, part 2, picks up right where Invincible season 2, part 1 ended, with Mark Grayson returning from Thraxa in order to help the Guardians of the Globe to stop the Sequid invasion of Earth. Although Mark doesn’t know it at the beginning of the episode, his trip to Thraxa has given him a clue to helping the Coalition of Planets finally defeat the Viltrum Empire.

Omni-Man’s Books Contain Hidden Viltrumite Weaknesses

Invincible has set the Viltrumites up as the most powerful alien race in the galaxy, with Earth and the Coalition of Planets not knowing anything that can beat them besides other Viltrumites. This is why the Viltrum Empire is so dangerous, as the only well-known weapon against them is rogue Viltrumites, of which there are very few. This is proven by Invincible and Omni-Man’s fight with the Viltrumites on Thraxa, with even them struggling to defeat the invaders. After being defeated, Omni-Man’s last words are telling Mark to read his books, and that’s because they contain hidden Viltrumite Weaknesses.

Invincible Season 3: Cast, Story, & Everything We Know

The Amazon Prime Video series Invincible shined during its first two seasons, and here’s everything we know about the upcoming season 3.

On Earth, Nolan Grayson was an author, with him being most famous for his travel books. However, Art reveals to Mark that Nolan secretly wrote a series of failed sci-fi novels, with them not being successes. This isn’t entirely true, though, as it turns out that Nolan’s sci-fi books are actually dramatized accounts of his journeys across the galaxy. These books chronicle weaknesses that the Viltrum Empire has discovered, with these being the key to defeating them once and for all. Now that Mark Grayson has a hold of them, the battle against the Viltrumites has taken a new direction.

The Man With The Invincible Gun

The first book that Mark reads in Invincible season 2, episode 6 is The Man with the Invincible Gun, with it telling the story of a galactic hero named Space Rider, with him using a weapon called the Infinity Ray. This Infinity Ray is able to go through anything in existence — including Viltrumites. As Allen the Alien explains, The Man with the Invincible Gun is based on a real galactic hero named Space Racer, with him being one of the few people able to take on the Viltrumites.

Savage Planet, Savage Beasts

The second book of Omni-Man’s that Mark reads is titled Savage Planet, Savage Beasts, with it also revealing another major Viltrumite weakness. In the story, two intergalactic explorers travel to a planet with an immensely high amount of gravity, with them encountering a race of aliens that are incredibly strong due to them adapting to the high gravity. This is based on the true story of Nolan and a Viltrumite ally traveling to a planet occupied by the Rognarr. The Rognarr are even stronger than the Viltrumites, making them one of the biggest weaknesses to the Viltrum Empire.

Although Mark Grayson only reads two of Omni-Man’s books in Invincible season 2, episode 6, it is clear that Nolan wrote several more than that. Before leaving Earth, Allen the Alien scans a stack of sci-fi books, and Art’s collection show that there are several more that still haven’t been seen. Two other book titles can be seen in the episode, those being Lost Inside the Chasm to Oblivion and Hate Tribes on the Planet Wrekk. It isn’t known what these books contain, but they are sure to feature a few more weapons that can be used against the Viltrum Empire.

Other Viltrumite Weaknesses In The Invincible Comics

Although the Invincible TV show has already shown a handful of the weaknesses that are able to take down Viltrumites, the Invincible comics have already revealed several others. One of Omni-Man’s other books in the comics reveals that the Klaxus plant is able to weaken Viltrumites, bringing them down to the strength levels of other alien species. Viltrumites also lose many of their powers upon having their inner-ears attacked, with their balance being important to their strength. Extreme levels of heat have also been shown to harm Viltrumites, with this being another method of attack.

Several of Invincible‘s most powerful characters are also deadly to Viltrumites, with them being enlisted by the Coalition of Planets. Obviously rogue Viltrumties and half-Viltrumites like Thaedus, Nolan, Mark, and Oliver are efficient at killing Viltrumites. Battle Beast is one of the Invicnible‘s universe’s strongest warriors, and he has also taken of Viltrumites and made it out alive. The upgraded version of Allen the Alien can fight off Viltrumites, while the Image Comics superhero Tech Jacket is also enlisted and lives through the war.

What Omni-Man’s Books Mean For Invincible (Based On The Comics)

Omni-Man’s books really get the momentum of the Viltrumite War storyline moving, and here’s what happens next based on the Invincible comics. Upon returning to the Coalition of Planets, Allen and Omni-Man team up and are sent on a mission by Thaedus to track down these weaknesses. The duo goes on an intergalactic quest to round up things like the Rognarr, the Infinity Ray, and other weaknesses, although they are unable to track down a few of these.

While gathering the weaknesses, Allen and Nolan also attempt to recruit some of the galaxy’s strongest soldiers. This involves rounding up Mark and Oliver, Battle Beast, and Tech Jacket. Although it is still a tough battle, this team is able to take down several Viltrumties, significantly weakening the already-struggling Viltrum Empire. This is all thanks to the secrets that Nolan hid in his books, with them being one of the most important plot elements in Invincible season 2.
