Obi-Wan Kenobi: All Inquisitors Ranked By Fighting Ability

Obi-Wan Kenobi: All Inquisitors Ranked By Fighting Ability

The latest Disney+ streaming series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, has once again brought viewers to the Star Wars universe, where fan-favorite Ewan McGregor has returned as the eponymous Jedi Master. In the show, Kenobi, along with several new friends, attempts to keep the villainous Darth Vader and his cohorts from capturing a host of Imperial refugees seeking asylum.

The Inquisitors, Force-sensitive Jedi hunters commissioned by the Emperor himself, play a major role in this series. While not every Inquisitor appears therein, each plays a vital role in the events that unfold following Order 66. Some of these Jedi hunters prove to be quite handy in battle while others leave plenty to be desired.

Sixth Brother

Obi-Wan Kenobi: All Inquisitors Ranked By Fighting Ability

The Sixth Brother of the Inquisitors has not yet been portrayed in live-action. The character’s most important appearance was in the Ahsoka novel by E.K. Johnston, where he battles the titular former Jedi, only to be killed when she causes the crystal inside his lightsaber to explode.

Unlike his compatriots in the Inquisitorius, the Sixth Brother didn’t seem to have all that much skill when it came to fighting. Despite having his quarry unarmed and ready to be killed, he still managed to be defeated, bringing shame to his brothers and sisters and, more importantly, to Darth Vader himself.

Tenth Brother

Tenth Brother in Star Wars comics

A former Jedi Master who was imprisoned after attempting to kill Mace Windu during the Clone Wars, Prossett Dibs became the Tenth Brother after the fall of the Jedi Order. In the seventeenth issue of the Darth Vader comics by Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camuncoli, the Tenth Brother dies when former Jedi Padawan Ferren Barr manipulated his Purge Troopers into committing Order 66 against their Inquisitor commander.

Despite being handy enough in a fight to reach the rank of Jedi Master and eventually Inquisitor, the Tenth Brother didn’t seem to know when to put his fighting abilities to good use. The Inquisitor had a nasty habit of picking fights he didn’t stand a chance of winning and eventually paid for such arrogance with his life.

Eighth Brother

The Eighth Brother faces Ahsoka, Kanan, and Ezra in Star Wars Rebels

The Eighth Brother was a member of the Inquisitorius specifically tasked with destroying the emerging Rebel Alliance, especially the team known as the Spectres, as seen in Star Wars: Rebels. This mission eventually leads him and two of his compatriots to Malachor, where they face off against the former Sith apprentice Darth Maul, only to lose their lives in the process.

While most of his accomplices were able to put up some kind of fight against Maul during their confrontation, the powerful Sith made short work of the Eighth Brother, hurling him off a great height to his death. This Inquisitor didn’t have the skill necessary to put up much resistance at all to his enemy, which became clear almost immediately.

Fourth Sister

Fourth and Third Sister in Obi-Wan Kenobi

The Fourth Sister is a former member of the Jedi Order who turned to hunting her one-time allies under the banner of the Inquisitorius. She was among those assigned to hunt down and capture Obi-Wan Kenobi after he resurfaced on Daiyu. She is one of the few Inquisitors in Star Wars canon whose fate is yet unknown.

The Fourth Sister is a character reminiscent of Captain Phasma from the sequel trilogy, who is unimpressed by the theatrics and power-grabbing of her peers. Though she has never been depicted in a full-on fight, viewers can infer from her no-nonsense personality that she can hold her own quite well, but perhaps lacks the rage that makes some of her allies so dangerous.

Seventh Sister

Seventh Sister Inquisitor Star Wars Rebels

After surviving the Great Jedi Purge, the Seventh Sister joined the Inquisitors with a deep desire to kill off her fellow Jedi. She displayed promise as a leader among the Inquisitors, even vying for the Grand Inquisitor’s position after his death, only to meet a horrifying demise herself at the hands of Darth Maul on the planet Malachor.

The Seventh Sister was a fearsome foe whose command over the Force made her a powerful opponent in battle. However, her half-baked strategies and hate-fueled tactics were not enough when faced with the true power of Maul, who quickly displayed to her and her Inquisitor allies why he had been so feared in his former life.

Fifth Brother

The Fifth Brother in Obi-Wan Kenobi show

The Fifth Brother was one of Obi-Wan’s most powerful antagonists who led several of the search parties aimed at finding and capturing the former Jedi Master. After his skirmishes with Obi-Wan, the Fifth Brother would join the Seventh Sister and Eighth Brother on a mission to Malachor, where he would die at the hands of Darth Maul, who was aided by Ahsoka Tano.

The Fifth Brother was a strong foe whose skill with a lightsaber defeated many of his enemies during his life. While he ultimately fell to Darth Maul’s blade, it took assistance from Ahsoka Tano for the Sith to gain the upper hand against the Inquisitor, who was able to hold his own for some time against his opponent.

Reva/The Third Sister

Reva Sevander in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Reva, otherwise known as the Third Sister, was one of the more intelligent members of the Inquisitors, who was a youngling at the time of Order 66. After witnessing Anakin Skywalker’s betrayal first-hand, Reva sought to get revenge on him, luring Darth Vader into a trap under the guise of delivering his former master to him. However, Vader quickly proved that he was far more skilled than she.

The Third Sister was fueled by rage and hatred, which she used to power her fighting technique. However, these negative emotions could only carry her so far, and could not make up for her lack of skill with a lightsaber. In their duel, Vader merely toyed with his traitorous Inquisitor, before growing bored and running her through with her own blade.

Ninth Sister

The Ninth Sister arrives on Kashyyyk to face Cal in Jedi Fallen Order

Masana Tide, later known as the Ninth Sister, is one of the major antagonists in the video game Jedi: Fallen Order. A massive Dowutin, the Ninth Sister poses a major threat against Cal Kestis after he is exposed as a Jedi refugee. Kestis is later forced to kill her after she confronts him on Kashyyyk.

The Ninth Sister used her size as an advantage in a fight, maintaining a berserker method of combat that served her well during her Jedi-hunting days. Her great command over the Force and skill with her double-bladed lightsaber made her one of the most difficult bosses in Fallen Order‘s story, and a memorable one as well.

Second Sister

Cere Junda's former apprentice, Trilla, fell to the Dark Side and became an Imperial Inquisitor, the Second Sister

The Second Sister, formerly known as Trilla Suduri, was one of the highest-ranking Inquisitors during the first decade after the Great Jedi Purge. She ruthlessly hunted her former Master Cere Junda, eventually facing off with Junda and Cal Kestis in Jedi: Fallen Order. However, after returning to the Light Side of the Force, Trilla was quickly dispatched by Darth Vader.

Trilla was one of the most intimidating and fearsome Inquisitors in the post-Republic galaxy. Her skill was unmatched by most of her allies, who paled in comparison to her rage and lust for revenge. She made for a truly terrifying antagonist in the original Jedi video game, a legacy that will be difficult for a new villain to live up to as fans anxiously seek to discern what will happen in the sequel, Jedi: Survivor.

The Grand Inquisitor

Grand Inquisitor in Obi-Wan Kenobi

The Grand Inquisitor was once a Temple Guard in the Jedi Order, who was among those that arrested Ahsoka Tano after she was framed for a bombing near the end of the Clone Wars. He later spearheaded the operation to capture Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi when he emerged from hiding ten years after the Great Jedi Purge. Unsuccessful in capturing Kenobi, the Grand Inquisitor became occupied with defeating the emerging rebellion in the galaxy, eventually dying after a duel with Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger.

The Grand Inquisitor may not be featured in many fights in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, but his tenure in the first season of Rebels showcases his incredible skill with a lightsaber. The Inquisitor was easily able to hold his own against multiple opponents, only acquiescing after a long and drawn-out fight in which he was very nearly victorious. In the end, the Grand Inquisitor proved why he had been chosen to lead the Inquisitorius, even if his rule was brought to an early end.
