Nikita Revival Chances Get Uncertain Response From CW Star 10 Years After Series Finale

After airing the series finale ten years ago, Nikita‘s revival chances get an uncertain response from Aaron Stanford. The show, an adaptation of La Femme Nikita, follows Maggie Q’s eponymous character who, after escaping Division, plans to use her training to bring down the entire organization. Having premiered on The CW in 2010, the series earned praise from critics and audiences but concluded after four seasons. Along with Q and Stanford, the cast of Nikita includes Shane West, Lyndsy Fonseca, Melinda Clarke, Xander Berkeley, and Noah Bean. Stanford portrayed Seymour Birkhoff, a hacker who eventually helps Nikita in her efforts against Division.

In a recent interview with The Direct, Stanford expressed uncertainty about the chances of a Nikita revival. He mentioned how the series was “like a reboot of a reboot of a reboot” but noted that he would still be interested in reprising his role if the opportunity came. Read Stanford’s comments regarding Nikita below:

Man, I don’t know. I mean… all this stuff is hypothetical. I certainly would absolutely think about it. I don’t know how or in what like world that would happen… Nikita is really funny. Like, we live in a world of reboots now. But Nikita is, you know, like a reboot of a reboot of a reboot… First of all, the original movie is just brilliant. It’s fantastic. And I think it was just so intriguing and so cool that people just endlessly see the potential for that and want to breathe new life into it. I mean, look, Birkhoff was a really fun character. I really enjoyed playing Shadow Walker. So yeah, if they figured out some way to bring Shadow Walker back to life. I would certainly explore that. Yeah.

Could The CW’s Nikita Be Revived?

During the series finale, which aired in 2013, Nikita’s plan to stop Amanda was finally revealed. She, along with Alex and Seymour, discovered where the replication facility was located, and every double was removed. Seymour then explained how his program would prevent governments from using technology and the internet to monitor others while Nikita and Michael were married. In addition, Ryan, who informed Q’s character that Slocum was a double, was honored.

Stanford’s comments make sense because the ending of Nikita seemed to finalize everyone’s story, and bringing them back more than ten years later could be difficult. It’s also unknown how a series revival would perform since The CW has been cutting shows since 2022 after Nexstar acquired the network and overhauled the programming schedule to opt for lower-cost shows and improve ratings. However, when Nikita was on the air, it managed to attract a loyal fanbase, and considering that Stanford didn’t turn down the idea entirely, it’s worth wondering how other actors feel about a possible return.
