Nightmare on Elm Street Makeup Line Coming From Kylie Jenner

This Halloween season, Kylie Jenner will haunt the public with a new cosmetics line inspired by A Nightmare on Elm Street. Wes Craven’s classic 1984 horror movie helped to establish slasher films as a mainstay of the genre with its iconic boogeyman Freddy Krueger. Krueger, now a ghost after being burned alive, haunts the dreams of a group of teenagers who are all neighbors on Elm Street.

Jenner announced the upcoming launch of Kylie x A Nightmare on Elm Street on Twitter after teasing the line across social media. The products are the latest exclusive themed package from Kylie Cosmetics, Jenner’s highly successful makeup and skincare company known for its in-demand lip kits. In the video announcement, Jenner offers a behind-the-scenes look at her photoshoot for the line, where she dresses up in Krueger-inspired outfits and long nails. The Nightmare on Elm Street line will be made available Tuesday, October 12 at 3 p.m. PST. Check out Jenner’s tweet below:

The products come packaged in a box made to look like a VHS case as a reference to the home videotapes viewers rented at the time of the film’s release. The Nightmare on Elm Street line includes products with names based on the film like the “Freddy Eye Shadow Palette” and the “Only A Dream Lip Lacquer.” The lip lacquers, eyeshadow palette, lip and cheek stain, and fake lashes are inspired by the movie, specifically the colors associated with Krueger’s well-known costume and appearance.

Although neither the Nightmare on Elm Street line nor its promotion is especially scary, it’s likely to be a hit among fans of Kylie Cosmetics. Jenner, a longtime lover of horror movies, wrote on Instagram that it was “a DREAM to collaborate with the icon of horror,” a tongue-in-cheek reference to Freddy Krueger’s preferred haunting method. At the very least, it’s clear Jenner is enjoying her partnership with the iconic horror film.
