Next Pokémon TCG Set For 2022 Will Likely Have Missing Promo Cards

In a recent reveal, it seems as though the new Pokémon Trading Card Game set will be including some previously missing promotional cards. The Pokémon Trading Card Game has become more popular over recent years thanks to unboxing streams on Twitch and celebrities sharing their rare cards. Since 1996, the Pokémon Company has continued to release new packs, including the newest pack Pokémon Sword and Shield – Lost Origin, which releases on September 9, 2022, and has introduced many new generations to the game.

Promo cards have been a staple of the Pokémon TCG world for many years, with one of the most recognizable being the Ancient Mew that was given out during the cinematic release of Pokémon 2000. Each card set usually includes a promo card as a bonus for players, but like the Ancient Mew, most are given away during special events like anniversaries or new releases. Some can be found at the Pokémon Centers around the world, while others are only available at McDonald’s. One of the most recent promo cards was the adorable hat-wearing Pikachu for the Pokémon GO! TCG expansion.

As reported by PokeGuardian, The World Card List revealed a look at all of the cards that will be released in this new pack known as Pokémon Sword and Shield 12.5. While looking through the list it was noticed that some promo cards that were missing are now going to be included in this newest set. Some of the promo cards include a few new Pikachu cards, along with Zeraroa, Jirachi, and Deoxys. There are other confirmed cards that were mentioned to be included a new Eevee card, a Galar Mr. Mime, and a Wooloo rolling around on the grass.

These promo cards will likely be used in upcoming events and in other sets. Though there is no official release date for the Pokémon Sword and Shield 12.5 special set these might be included in the Pokémon TCG Hidden Potential tins that will be available on October 14. None of these cards are officially confirmed to be included in this set, and it is unknown exactly what these Hidden Potential tins will hold. The promo cards are a way for fans to get even more collectible items and to want to continue their search to find the rare cards in their decks. There are over 900 Pokémon on the roster now and many versions of existing Pokémon for players to collect in their Trading Card Game journey.

Pokémon cards have continued to stand the test of time and each year more players are introduced to the game. With the upcoming release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, there is potential for new Pokémon to be introduced and for an entirely new generation of fans to want to be the very best Pokémon Trading Card Game player and collect them all.
