Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17 has been delayed for an undisclosed amount of time.
Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17‘s release date was also supposed to be in March, but was delayed due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes. While the film’s official release is uncertain, it sees Robert Pattinson as Mickey Barnes, an expendable employee of a scientific organization sent to an ice planet named Niflheim to colonize it. However, after Mickey is destroyed, a new version is created with many of the old one’s memories, setting about a series of existential events. Considering the prestige that Bong Joon-ho brings to any project, and Pattinson’s talent, it was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Mickey 17‘s delays are unfortunate, but the sci-fi genre is already in good hands thanks to the confirmed releases that are on their way.
